Emachines Monitor has black screen and on/off...

Recently we have had a problem with our Emachines monitor when after we turn it on we get no screen display. The computer itself if booting up. The on/off button just flickers. We have tried to shut the reboot many times and make sure everything is connected properly. Now when the computer is shut down, the on/off button still flickers...Weird!!! What could it be? I am ready to launch it out the window.

I have the same problem with my emachine monitor, black screen button rapidly flickers on and off
