Set listed here does not have one---if using HD avoid using the 4X3 (narrow picture left to right) as the borders if left on too long with contrast too high will burn the tubes.

The Default settings on the set listed here are if set unplugged and plugged in : Contrast 100%---this is what burns in images left stationary too long--never have contrast (picture) set above 75 percent.

If I leave my computer unattended for maybe 15 min. this monitor turns itself off. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks, brumeister

Screen savers can help protect your monitor from wear by showing a constantly changing display when your computer is not being used. Screen savers can be simple, like the Blank screen saver that turns off your monitor to save energy. To change your screen saver 1. Right-click your desktop, and then click Properties.
    2. In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Screen Saver tab.
    3. Click the Screen saver drop-down box, and then click a screen saver.
    4. Click the Preview button to see how the screen saver will appear on your monitor.
    5. Move your mouse or press a key to return to the Display Properties dialog box. To try a different screen saver, return to step 3. 6. Click the Settings button to change the standard behavior of the screen saver you selected. (Each screen saver has its own settings dialog box.) Then, click OK.
    7. In the Wait box, type the number of minutes the computer should wait to start the screen saver after you last touched the keyboard or mouse.
    8. If you are the only person who uses your computer and you are not concerned about security, clear the On resume, display Welcome screen check box. Otherwise, leave this check box selected. Note: If your computer is joined to an Active Directory, the Fast Users Switching feature will be disabled. This is a common change made to computers used for business, and it happens automatically when a computer joins an Active Directory domain. However, disabling the Fast User Switching feature is not the default setting. Almost all computers in home environments will have Fast User Switching enabled. When Fast User Switching is enabled, you'll see the On resume, display Welcome screen check box. If you're part of a domain, you'll see the On resume, password protect check box.
    9. Click OK.

I need to restore icons on desktop, tried to do so, nothing works. The screen saver has covered the entire desktop face. cannot remove it.

I am not sure that the screen saver is making problems.
Screen savers turn on after at least one minute of no activity, and turn off when you move your mouse or press a button on your keyboard.

Start your PC in 'SAFE MODE' . Are there your desktop icons?
Disable or uninstall the screen saver and and restart in 'Normal mode'.

    Regards.

    Screen saver of Samsung M620

The device will only allow you to set certain defaults as far as your background theme and screen-saver. Go to "settings", then "display" and you will should see "screen-saver/and or "background". Once you access this application, it will give you a default list of changing your screen-saver/background for your preference.

    Full screen probs with netflix

This has nothing to do with Netflix, you would get the same result with any DVD regardless of its origin. Chances are that is the laptop trying to revert to a screen saver or power save mode during the movie.

Check your laptop's power and screen saver settings. If you are experiencing the problem every 3 minutes or so, your screen saver is most likely scheduled to go on after 3 minutes of inactivity. The same goes for your monitor-- it may try to dim or turn off after a certain amount of time.

To change these settings to a longer delay, go to your desktop and right click. Select "Properties". Choose the "screen saver" tab, and change the "wait:" field to a higher number. Or, just turn the screen saver off by selecting "(none)" under the screen saver dropbox. You may also click "Power" and change the time for "turn off monitor" to "never", or a longer amount of time.

    Screen saver problems boot problems

ok the disk check can be turned off in the bios setup
when you turn it it it says something to the effect like
    "Press Del to enter setup"

what ever key it ask you to press press it..

in the setup change the first bioot device to HD0 or hard drive
Change the Floppy seek to off..

    as per the screen saver,,
Try changing the screen saver to another one
If that fails turn the screen saver off

If that fails try a system restore to a date that this problem was not occuring..

IF THAT AS WELL FAILS THEN IT COULD BE HARDWARE RELATED

    eighter memory or processor..
