First are you using a genuine Sony battery if not then get one. if you are it is a faulty battery pack and requires replacement, if under warranty take it back to the place of purchase

sorry to say this friend....u have inserted an incompatible battery in your camera that is why the message "for use with compatible battery only" keep showing up whenever u switch on your camera
so u got to replace your currently installed battery to the compatible battery of your model
so i have searched the web for your model's compatible battery list...just check with it in the below link

I just have that problem with my 2 year old w80 and I was getting the same message. I have a friend with the same camera type and try his battery pack on my camera and worked fine. I bought in Best Buy a new battery pack and is working as new again. I use my camera very heavy for inspections and seems to be that the battery life came to a end.
