SOURCE: our lg microwave door handle

Visit this link, click on your model, and then look for a service manual link on the left side of the resulting page.

The service manual will help you in getting it off.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screw(s) you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

In some cases, you then have to gently rotate the handle to unlock it.

You can order LG (L.G.) parts Encompass here or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: Hi there, I'm installing an LG LMV205SW OTR

It does not really matter where you can get a lag screw into a stud as long as you can get at least two screws in place holding the mounting plate. Don't forget there are two screws in the front you have to put in.

How do i take microwave off wall i took 2 bolts off in cupboard above microwave and microwave did not budge at akk.

There should be two or three bolts inside of the cabinet above the microwave. Remove all bolts and then pull top edge of microwave forward (away from wall). It pivots on a mounting plate which is secured on the wall. Pivot forward and lift microwave up a little bit off of the ledge of the rear mounting plate.

Make sure to feed the electric wire (plug) through the hole in the cabinet as you pivot and remove the microwave. Sometimes cooking grease will make the microwave stick to the cabinet. So after removing the bolts use gentle force when pulling on the microwave.fce1346.jpg
I hope this helps and good Luck!

I am seeking a template for re-installing my 2 year old microwave. Jenn-aire has none of the templates in stock and can't send me a pdf or file so I can print the template myself. I have tried 2 parts...

Since you can't get a paper template for remounting your microwave, I can offer you my tips for doing this, as I've had to reinstall many of my customers microwaves, after they've done a kitchen remodel.

You can use the metal mounting bracket as your "new" template. Just unmount the micro and remove the metal bracket and you can then position it on the wall or under the cabinet where you are looking to mount the microwave. However, before you remove it from the wall, simply measure the distance from the edges at the top and both sides of the bracket, where it is presently mounted and you'll be able to easily remount it in a new location.

If you've already removed it from the wall, not to worry, simply place it on the back of the microwave and measure the distance from the edges of the bracket to the top and both sides of the microwave's canbinet edges. Allow for 3/16" additional distance and you should be able to then remount the bracket at the new location with ease.

Please remember that you want to get the bracket secured into a wall stud so it can hold the weight of the microwave once it's installed and fastened to the bracket. I also recommend that you use wall anchors at the side edges at both the top and bottom corners to help secure the bracket IF there are no wall studs behind the predrilled holes for mounting the bracket to the wall.

If you have trouble using the metal mounting bracket, you can always trace the entire bracket onto a piece of heavy paper or cardboard, but frankly, I find this unecessary and time consuming, since you've already got the mounting bracket right there with all the holes and such.

Also, don't forget to measure the location of the power cord at the top or back of the microwave and remember you'll need to drill a hole in order to be able to pass the cord thru the cabinet. If your microwave has screws at the top front edge that help secure it to the cabinent above it, again, simply measure the distance of these mounting locations from the sides and back of the microwave cabinet and drill holes thru the cabinet, using a drill bit that is twice the diameter of the mounting bolts. You should add washers to these bolts to help prevent the bolts from pulling thru the cabinet bottom.

Mounting a microwave is best done with at least two people, as holding it in place while someone else puts the bolts in it isn't easy to do by yourself. Also, it is much easier to do, when installing it over an existing range, if you move the range out of the way first, so you can stand under the microwave, instead of having to lean over the range while trying to install it. Not to mention the fact that should you drop the microwave, you'll not only damage it, but could destroy your range at the same time.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Remove a whirlpool over the range microwave oven

Jim here. In cabinet above microwave, locate 2 mounting bolts.
Place a box on the stove top to support the microwave once the mounting bolts are removed (you may wish to cover the box with a thick towel or small throw rug).
Procedure:
1. Unplug microwave.
2. Remove both mounting bolts from top of microwave (they secure it to the overhead cabinet).
3. With microwave front angled down onto box, pull some of power cord out of hole (to provide some moving space).
4. With microwave hand supported, remove box from stove top (a second set of hands would be helpful here).
5. HARD PART- detach top of microwave back from wall mounting plate by placing a hand under the bottom rear of the microwave and pushing up. (Wall mounting plate is screwed into the wall behind the microwave and provides both top and bottom support to the back of the microwave.)
6. Lower front of microwave until you can see about a 1-inch clearance between the top-rear of the microwave and the cabinet above it.
7. Firmly lift the microwave straight up and then bring forward. It should be free of the wall mounting plate.

Kenmore galaxy model 721 microwave hood combination

You put a mounting plate on the wall behind where the unit will be mounted. Then the microwave hooks onto the bottom of the mounting plate and you swing it up to the cabinet above it. Then you must screw 2 mounting screws through the floor of the cabinet above into the bracket on top of the microwave.

How can I install this oven GH9115XE?

You may be looking for this flat head 1/4 x 28 threaded bolt that is about 4" long. The tip of the bolt does not have threads, which aids in locating the threaded holes in the top of the microwave:

GE # WB01X10180 (or AP3205964 or 942461 as listed on some repair parts sites)

or a set of three

GE # WB01X10125 (or AP3185225 or 910236 as listed on some repair parts sites)
