Bosch dishwasher stuck on "1"

I have the same issue that "Kittens" reported with the Bosch dishwasher - sometimes it gets stuck on the 1 minute mark and will stay there for hours. I'm wondering if there is a way to reset the dishwasher so the settings can be cleared...Does anyone have any advice on that?

We have the exact same problem. Been running fine for years until now. Tried resetting, checking "delayed start" settings, different settings, and all the same results...sticks on "1" and runs and runs.

Same problem. Gets stuck on 1 min. and does not stop, will continue rinsing for hours. Water does not seem to drain completely even though all drains and hoses are clear. Can get some of the wash cycles to begin at 13 min. but the Rinse & Hold cycle will only begin on 1 min.

YOU MAY NEED A CONTROL BOARD OR A HEATER. THERE IS A CONNECTOR WITH A RED AND GRAY WIRE, THE RED WIRE IS THICKER THAN THE OTHER RED WIRES. IF YOU HAVE 120 VOLTS ON THERED WIRE THE CONTROL IS GOOD. YOU NEED A CLAMP ON AMP METER TO TEST TO SEE IF THERE IS AN AMP DRAW ON THE RED WIRE WHICH WOULD TELL YOU THE HEATER IS WORKING

Forgot about this post. I took the unit apart and discovered the bad solder connection which I found posted on the web to be true. It's a solder connection on the control PC board for the relay that controls the heater. When the connection opens (breaks) the heater doesn't work, then the water temperature won't acheive the required level and the wash time projection falls apart. I repaired the connection with enough solder to act as a heat sink to eliminate the problem from returning (I already replaced the control PC before) which is the weak link in the dishwasher now eliminated. After re-assembly the processor remembered the excessive time to get the water hot (which was never acheived) and it projected way too much time. But after performing a successful cycle it returned to accurate wash time projections and works perfectly.
I can repair the control PCs so this problem will not return, as long as someone can remove it and ship it to me.
Email me if anyone needs such help.

We called Sears (who installed the Bosch) and referenced these threads that the cause was very likely the control board and would they please bring one when they come out to check. They came out and checked and...guess what? Gotta order a control board...came in 2 weeks later and solved the problem.

Some of the dishwashing soap is left and the dishes have particles stuck on them especially glasses

Thanks for using FixYa.com! This sure sounds to me like a temperature issue or a recirculation issue. The first thing I would recommend is removing the filter from the base of the dishwasher (inside the tub), 1/4 turn and it comes out. Clean the filter and the area under the large square mesh filter really good. After that, make sure you run the water at the sink until hot before starting dishwasher. If unit still not washing well and runs for a very long time, I would inspect the control for a burn mark on the heater relay which is very common on Bosch dishwashers. Start with the filter first, though.

Cycle runs forever

Th Bosch units are prone to circuit board failure and this is the common symptom. If you are electronically inclined go the applianceaid.com and search Bosch for test codes to pinpoint the issue. There is an online picture of the faulty relay solder joint I repaired mine and a neighbors, Bosch will in some cases supply parts at no charge and they do not recommend repair, however IMHO it is a repairable cold solder joint very visible on the board. If you are good with needle tip soldering iron you are in luck

I have a Bosch Exxcel Dishwasher, stuck at 1 minute to go

Make sure the drain pump is clear of any blockages and obstructions and that the drain hose wasn't kinked when you re-installed it.
