Hi anotmb, the driver software for the Abit NF-M2S onboard LAN controller is included in the MCP61 Chipset Driver package. You will find the MCP61 Chipset Driver & other driver software at this link;
http://www.uabit.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32&Itemid=48&page=4&model=332
If when you click the MCP61 Chipset Driver Download button & the download site fails, than try either of the other - Europe Mirror Site or Asia Mirror Site.
Create a folder on your desktop & name the new folder chipset.
Download file name: 9152kxp32.zip 29.7 MB in size. Into the chipset folder.
Use the program called Winzip to uncompress the file, keeping the uncompressed files in the same folder. If you do not have Winzip you can download it for free from this link:
http://www.download.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10003164.html
Winzip will create another folder named: 9152kxp32. Open the folder & read the README.TXT file.
This will show you the list of driver software that will be installed into your system.
After you install the driver software, restart your system & than run windows update. There may be hardware & or software updates for your board.
If your network adapter still fails to function than the onboard LAN chip may be defective. (Lets hope not)!

Good luck anotmb!

Mike

Windows seven upgade did not install drivers

You probably need to download either a Vista or 7 driver from the manufacturer. Windows 7 doesn't have ALL drivers built in.

Can i use a Netgear WPN111 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter with a xbox ?

No definitely not....

If you want your Xbox to be wireless, then you need to buy Xbox wireless adapter...

Bcoz the Xbox wireless adapter comes with a pre-built in drivers....
but other brand wireless adapter donot comes with a built in drivers, you need to install the drivers using a driver cd....But Xbox do not allow driver cd's to be installed on it... so you will not be able to use ordinary wireless adapter instead of Xbox wifi adapter...

Reinstalled xp now I can't get on the internet. Network adapter did not install

Is your network adapter built onto the motherboard or is it a separate card?
If it is built in, with a little research, you can identify the model of the motherboard in the computer and download the latest drivers from the motherboard manufacturer. If it is a separate card, you can install the drivers again from the CD that came with the card or visit the card manufacturers website to download drivers there.

I need to install a network adapter which one should i download

You don't download network adapter - those are built into the motherboard, or they are card you install into a PCI slot.
If you have a network adapter, you need to download the driver. The driver is specific to the adapter so without knowing which one you have, the question can not be answered.

Network driver for my clone computer

The driver you need depends on the chipset used. What brand of computer do you have, or is it home-built? For name-brand computers you can normally get the drivers you need from the manufacturer's website. If it's home-built, the drivers can be downloaded from the motherboard maker's site if the network adapter is integrated into the board. If you are using an expansion network card, you can look on the card for manufacturer and model number and get the drivers from their site. Or you can search for generic drivers based on the chip number.

If this doesn't help you enough, please post a comment with more details before giving a negative rating and I'll to give you more detailed information.

Wifi issue

Hi!

Check with your laptop's manual or specification sheet if it came with a built in wireless adapter. If it does, then you do not need to use a wireless adapter. All you have to do is to configure the wireless utility of your laptop to connect to your preferred wireless network.

You can also check Device Manager to check if there is a built in wireless adapter. Assuming you are using Windows XP - Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. Look for Network Adapters. Check if there is anything under Network Adapters that says "wireless" or 802.11A/B or G. If there is, then again you do not need to install a wireless adapter.

Once you verified that there is a built in wireless adapter, just configure the wireless adapter utility to connect wirelessly to you preferred network.

Good luck and have a nice day!
