Hi, Our fridge door makes an annoying high-pitched squeak when we close it. It's a side-by-side model, and the squeak seems to come from the fridge door gasket rubbing against the closed freezer door. (i.e. the squeak doesn't happen if the freezer door is open so it's not in the way). I think the problem is actually with the freezer door not being aligned quite right... since the plastic molding on the freezer door actually clunks slightly against the center post when you close it. Is it easy to adjust the hinge to fix this problem? there are three screws and a bolt holding the top top mount of the hinge to the fridge body... not sure how to adjust. Thanks!

I think I can help. Usuly the doors have been swapped around in this case. look closely at the freezer door on hinge side. there should be a small metal piece that covers the hinge to prevent anything from jamming hinge. this shield also serves as a spacer. this is what sets the door at the correct height. if the piece is missing you can have your local appliance dealer order one for you. it only takes a few minutes ts to install. you will need to remove the freezer door to do this. Hope this helps and good luck.

take the freezer door off and put a washer or two on the bottom hinge. sometimes there are extra plastic washers on the top hinge that you can move to the bottom to lift it up.
also check if the hinge is bent or loose, as this may cause the problem.
