Corrupted and unreadable external hard drive

My external hard drive has been corrupted on 12th Nov 2008.
This is the problem in my external Hard Disc(120 GB TOSHIBA, Japan Made).
Please advice me what to do??

1) While inserting into USB port, the drive is displaying in the computer screen like local drive G, local drive H, local Drive I(3 Partitions). But not opening.
2) Property of drive showing 100 % full. There is no space in any of the drive.
3) File type RAW is displayed in properties option (instead of NTFS). Sometimes the file type showing nothing.
4) While trying to open by double clicking or from explore option is showing “Folder is corrupted and unreadable files”
5) From DOS option/ mode also it is not opening.
6) I have tried from different sources means used in 2/3 computers, but all of them results same as stated above.

Is it possible to recover the datas ?

The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

You unplugged it when data was still written on it so it was corrupted. Some files are still recoverable so use

to get them.

Corrupt or unreadable error message

You can use free softwares such as Pandora Recovery to recover data. I cannot guarantee that it will recover any, but it doesn't hurt to try. There are also a lot of other payware softwares you can try if you think it would help.

My external hard drive is corrupt, i want my data back.

Dear,
Data can be recover but the drive must be accessible by OS. As you write windows vista says drive is not accessible and that the disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.Do one thing try the same drive at another PC. If it run on that PC copy the data to that PC. Now format the drive and paste the same data back to your drive. But, if same thing happend then there are chances of fault in the driveand for this you shuld visit to the service cetre but, they are not responsible for the data.

Thanks & regards,
