My iPod doesn't show up on my computer!

My iPod nano, 3rd gen, will not even show up on my computer. I restarted my iPod and computer. Since it doesn't show up on iTunes, then I can't do anything. My Mom's iPod will sync, but not mine. Nothing will show up on the iPod either; no errors messages, nothing! i had a similar problem around 8 months ago, where my iPod would show up, but not as an iPod. it didn't register as an iPod. It's fixed now, but now i have a new problem.

My wife and I have the same model ipods - white 30g video. Hers connects fine using the same usb cable and mine does not get recognised by windows or itunes. I have rest the ipod a dozen times, reinstalled Itunes and checked that I have the latest software. It charges fine using the usb cable and overall there are not many issues. I have noticed in the "about" section that I have used up most of the memory. I don't know how to fix this and your help would be appreciated.

Try to log out of itunes, and set up your own account, log in each time you connect your ipod, your ipod has it's own serial number, and your computer tries to open up ipod 1 even when ipod 2 is being used.
