I always find e-studio products have odd errors that are not easy to solve.
However most PCL xl errors can be traced to driver problems. try updating to the latest drivers for the operating system.

1. Check the cables connecting the printer to the computer and make sure they are secure.
2. Turn the printer off and back on.Resetting the printer can sometimes bring it back online.
3. Check the toner or ink cartridge. If your ink is low or empty, the printer won't function.
4. Check for torn paper, paper clips, sticky label residue and other items that could be the cause of error

We have a WorkCentre 7655 that has been working fine for ages but is now causing some issues. A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing.

The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"

As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.

I already answered this, but the response did not get posted.

The short answer is that the PCL XL interpreter has picked up the use of the "Escape Code" (0x1B) in the incoming datastream. This command is used for the standard versions of PCL, most notable PCL 5e. It is not used in the PCL XL datastream.

I think u have installed the PCL 5 or PCL 6 driver.Not to worry
Go to www.hp.com and download the PS driver for LJ 3055. Install the driver,u will not get the PCL XL error any more.

Some people have issues with the PCL6 driver this causes pcl xl error like this to print. Change your driver from the PCL6 driver to the PCL5 driver. If you don't have the software you can down load it from HP at: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

try loading a pcl5 driver instead of the pcl6. pcl xl is hp's pcl6 and some times has problems.

It is a driver error, try another printer driver version or use PCL 5 rather then PCL 6 driver,

Check your USB cable it must be HighSpeed or USB 2 cable.
