same. tried new cable, different tv, nothing . used once since microsoft return from red ring issue. they say they won;t fix it for free now. So everyone has quoted $100 to fix.

On some av cables for the Xbox 360 there is a switch on the cable itself where it plugs into the Xbox that must be in the correct position. I hope this helps you.

I imagine you have bought the new slim Xbox 360? Did you use a HDMI cable to connect it to your TV or did you use the standard cable? If you used a standard AV cable ensure that you connected the red and white cables into the same AV input as the yellow video cable.
Are you on the correct channel or input for the xbox 360? Also check your av cable to see if it is on the hdtv or regular tv. You can move the switch to make the adjustment. It may be how you have set up your xbox 360 cables and the directv box cables to the tv so you should consult your tv manufactory for the correct guide on setup.
Look like ur Xbox 360 AV RCA cables is not making contact to the input board very well.Take some rubing achahol cleans the all those input holes, take the RCA AV connections make couples twises to the red, yellow and white, will help.Make contact with ur input board it should work.
If it was hooked to a flat screen it was most likely on high def. There is a switch on the connection to the tv to make it work on a regular defination tv. Just slide the switch over to regular and it should work. Hope this helps.
to start off, what type of cable are you using??
since you've already tried using 2diff TVs,basically its with the console
try using a different AV CABLES, if it still doesnt work, try calling xbox support hotline for possible replacement of your cable or for processing a repair for the xbox if necessary..
since you just bought your console, try going back to the store where you bought it and have it replaced, because for the repalcement of the cable if you call xbox support,it will take 8-12business days for toureceive it and 2-3weeks for the turn around time of the repair for the xbox.
1. make sure that the AV cable is not loose or incorrectly seated in both the Xbox 360 console and the TV 2. make sure that you have the correct AV cable for your TV, to verify that the AV cable is connected correctly to the Xbox 360 console and to the TV, disconnect the AV cable and then reconnect the AV cable to both devices 3. if you are using composite cables, do not try to set any HDTV settings because you may lose the picture 4. make sure that your TV is set to the same video broadcast system as your Xbox 360 console (PAL or NTSC) Example: - if your Xbox 360 console is an NTSC console, make sure that your TV supports NTSC - if your Xbox 360 console is a PAL console, set your PAL settings to PAL 60 - if your TV has a type of picture compensation enabled, disable it 5. reset your Xbox 360 console - Remove any discs from the disc tray - Turn off the console - Turn on the console - As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time - The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console. 6. Do not take your Xbox 360 console or its accessories to your retailer for repair or for service unless an Xbox Customer Support representative asks you to do this
where you put the cables for the sound and picture if you look on the end where you plug it into the xbox 360 you will see a little switch it has HD and TV on it depending on what your tv supports (HD ready TV) (normal TV) switch that switch to what TV you have (e.g. HD TV, switch the switch to HD) if that doesnt work then try checking that you have all the cables in the right ports if you have pluged the HD cables into a normal TV then this is not going to work, check cables and check the switch!
Have you looked at the side of the cable and made sure that the switch
is set correctly? you have to select either HDTV of AV I believe. If
that isn't the problem, try hooking it up through a different input on
your television. I don't think it's your xbox because with any hardware failure, you would get the RRoD (red ring of death). I would definitely troubleshoot the TV. Try to hook up a regular DVD player in the input that your xbox is in and see if it works.
Try looking on your AV Cable there is a setting for HDTV and TV if you have a High Definition tv use that setting but by the sounds of your issue i would say you dont and would go with the regular TV setting. Its right on the neck of the AV cable where it plugs into the game console. Let me know if this works for you.
