SOURCE: changing developer unit in afficio 450

Remove PCU, remove development unit, remove cover (2 plastic C-clips) remove filter, remove development roller (2 shoulder bolts). Clean roller and empty all developer. Pour in new developer, re-assemble unit. Reinstall drum and Development unit. Place a small piece of paper between the PCU and toner entrance hole to prevent used toner from entering dev. unit during calibration. Perform SP2-801. Remove paper form dev. unit

SOURCE: We need to replace the drum unit on a Minolta

Not familiar with your model.... but...
When you install the toner cartridge, the toner is routed into a developer unit. this unit has "developer" in it that mixes with the toner. Generally you purchase the developer, remove the developer unit, remove the top cover of the unit, empty the contents of the unit. add the new deveoper to the unit, replace the cover, install the toner cartridge. a lot of times this requires going into service mode to reset the developer count and run a conditioning mode. Not sure if this is any help but here you go.

SOURCE: copier aficio 450 developer unit plastic strip

Hello, hope this helps. I believe you are referring to the seals [a clear mylar] placed at each end of the developer roller to prevent developer from spilling out of the ends. The part numbers are A2323132 (rear seal) and A2323131( front seal). I just checked the Ricoh website and it appears they don't sell to the public. I can recommend my company which is Advanced Office Systems in Knoxville Tennessee. I have know idea what those dang things cost but after shipping and a whole lotta handling, $20 would would not shock me. I have used electrical tape to solve this problem. To make a seal, cut a piece of tape that overlaps the dev roller by about an inch at both ends. Cut a second piece of tape that when turned "sticky side to sticky side" against the first piece can provide a smooth "seal" against the dev roller while the remaining sticky ends of the first piece attach to the CLEANED plastic housing of the developer unit. or call 1.865.966.0770 to purchase the seals from Advanced Office Systems. Have a good one...

How to fix the sharp MX-3100N printer? the message on the screen is install the developer.

Developer unit is not detected , or developer is depleted ( which is very bad , because it could mean that it spilled inside your copier , it is very abrasive)

try removing and re-installing the developer unit , and maybe try using another unit for control,
could also be your harness, see if plug of developer unit is plugged into mainbord

Xerox Phaser 7750 The printer's black fades print after print and totally vanishes. I tried replacing Imaging Unit, Toner, cleaning by wand, etc.

If it is only happening in black then it has to be something prior to the toner reaching the transfer belt; such as toner, developer, imaging unit, or laser. It sounds like you've already cleaned the laser window, replaced the toner, and image unit, so I would inspect the developer. Remove the black image unit and use a flashlight to inspect how well toner is covering the magnetic roller on the developer. You may want to compare it to a developer of a working color to see if they look similar. Also, make sure there are no foreign objects near where the image units go. If an object came loose in there, the arm will not close correctly which could cause the image unit to not make contact with the developer. Hope this helps, and thanks for using Fixya.

Hello, I am having problems with a Di2510 machine. When it is turned on I get the 'Please Wait' screen, and then nothing? It just stays frozen on that message

sir, Have you had the developer and drum replaced or does the screen say Replace PC Drum? There are certain house chores the copier does before "Ready to Copy" it is waiting for them to get done equals "Please Wait". One big item is making sure the developer and toner are properly mixed inside the image unit underneath the drum. Might want to have the developer replaced and drum/cleaning blade normally done all together, then run the F8 procedure and make sure the counters where cleared Did you recently replace the drum and the developer if so did you clear the counters for the drum and developer. IF not then the copier thinks the new drum and new developer are old. Copier works on the counters that how it know it got a new drum and developer. Get new develop and new drum and have it installed correctly, Counters are clear before the unit is yanked out of the machine, then you remove the image unit/drum unit replace the developer/drum and cleaning blade. (DO NOT USE AVACUUM CLEANER WHEN REPLACING THE DEVELOPER static electricity can destroy the sensor located below the developer unit. Then reinstall and RUN F8. Make sure the fax line and Ethernet cable is removed can't print anything until the F8 is run. Or you start over with new developer and new drum

Also try removing the toner bottle, turn off the machine with the toner bottle out and cover closed turn on the machine when it ask for toner properly place the toner bottle in the machine
