TWAIN Driver Error

All scanning is done through a 3rd party application over Citrix (TWAIN redirection) that calls the TWAIN driver...
After the user scans successfully, they get this twain error. All other users have Panasonic scanners and follow the same work flow in the same 3rd party application and do not get the error. New TWAIN drivers have been installed from the website and the problem persists. After getting the error, the user has to reboot the machine or can sometimes disconnect from the Citrix server and reconnect.
From my research it appears that the DS42019 error is an unsolvable issue with Fujitsu TWAIN driver. Ideas?

If the windows image acquisition service is running, stop/disable it and see if this helps with the apparent concurrency problem.

If connected via USB, unplug cable and insert into another available port and error message should disappear.

The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user i get this darn error. I use this scan multiple times a day and all of a sudden i see this.... why?

Hi,

The error message could be Twain Driver error or ScandAll pro Application error. Please go through the followings:

SCANDALL-PRO APPLICATION ERROR:

Error Code: [SA01020E] No scanner is found.
There is a possibility that no scanner is connected, the connected scanner is not turned on, or the scanner is currently used by some other application.

Status: [Scan] or [Select Scanner] is specified, but no connected scanner is found. Or, the scanner is currently used by some other application.

Action: Make sure that the scanner is connected and is turned on. If the scanner is currently used by some other application, use the scanner after the application ends. Make sure that the driver selected on the [Scan] tab of [Preferences] in the [Tool] menu is installed correctly.

TWAIN DRIVER ERROR:

-The scanner may be OFF or not connected. Check the power supply of the scanner or connection with PC.
-The scanner may be already in use by other application or the "Scanner and Camera" in [Control Panel].Close other application or "Scanner and Camera" in [Control Panel]

-The connected image scanner is not a model supported by this driver. No image scanner is connected. The cable is disconnected.Check whether the image scanner is connected.

-Another application may already be using the image scanner. Alternatively, the TWAIN driver may have been activated twice.Terminate all applications, and start scanning again.

For more information, please refer to the help contents of Scanner utility/Twain driver and scanning application installed on your PC.Hope the above information is helpful.

Thanks,

Scans two pages and stops midway through the next page. This just started happening. I scan in bulk, archiving payables. I've tried restarting both my computer and the documate and problem still continues....

I've seen this issue happen when the wrong driver was being used. When you install the documate, it installs 2 drivers. The WIA driver (windows acquisition driver) and the TWAIN driver. Make sure that you are using the TWAIN driver.

I cannot scan from the network with my canon MF4370 scanner

This AIO, is a little er, a lot to be desired.
This is what I've found, and its only within my knowledge, which is of little, but, at YOUR OWN RISK...

The first problem is this unit requires a "Command to scan" that has to be generated from a 3rd party software that can "Acquire" a TWAIN image.

The second problem is that the scanner portion of this unit is not a windows recognized device.
So you have to make it appear to be a somewhat of a Virtual device, which may not be accessible to ALL applications. I will address this issue first....

On the driver disk that came with this unit is a program called:
Color Network Scangear Ver***.msi

This is my path which may differ from yours, you will have to "Explore" for it:
D:/Color_Network_ScanGear/driver/Color Network Scangear Ver***.msi

Install it, then "Discover" for the device, select it, and "Exit" out of this program.
The scanner will now be available to SOME applications.

Now for the next part, the 3rd party software.
On the disk there is also a program called:
PMsetup.exe
This is my path which may differ from yours, you will have to "Explore" for it:
D:/PRESTOPM/PMsetup.exe
This program will work, but I don't like it.
I use Paintshop Pro 7 because it gives you a choice between the feeder or the platen glass to scan from and I have yet to find this feature in the Presto PageManager.
Remember, you have to have a software program that can send the command to "Acquire" a TWAIN image to the MF4370dn

If you made it this far, CONGRATS.
This is the process to scan on the network:

On the MF4370dn: (I now know what "MF" stands for.)

1. Wake it up if it is asleep. (Press Energy Saver" button)
2.Press the "SCAN" button twice to read "NETWORK SCANNING" on the display.
Load your document, remember depending on which place is active, either feeder or platen is the place you must load it.
Walk the 2 miles back to your PC.
3. In the 3rd party software, use the "Acquire" function, and the scan should load in to your software.
You may have to select the "Source" to "Acquire" from, chose the MF4370dn, it may be the only source to chose from.

Good Luck

What I want to know is: How to view the faxes in it's memory on the PC without having to print every single one of them. I get alot of Junk faxes which I dont want to waste the time and money to print them.

Epson Perfection v200 stopped working on my imac

Try to scan using epson scan to isolate the issue. You can launch epson scan from applications. If you can scan using epson scan, call adobe to troubleshoot further on photoshop.
If you get an error epson scan cannot be started or if it won't launch. It could be connection or driver issue.
To uninstall/re-install twain on mac, follow the instructions:
- go to applications. Trash epson scan and epson scanner monitor
- Go to library then application support. Trash epson scanner module.
- Go to library then image capture. Trash twain data sources.
- Go to the hard drive. Click on user. Click on the name of your computer. Click on library. Click on preferences. Click on epson. Trash epson scan.
- Empty the trash.
- Restart your mac.
- Log on to support.epson.com. Type in v200 in the search box on the top right corner of the page then click search. click on the first search result. Click on the drop down box and select macintosh operating system instead of windows. click on the second driver down, epson12527.dmg then click on download now. Select no thanks, i prefer not to receive this information then click accept. Install the epson scan installer after the download.
- Then try to scan using epson scan.
If epson scan won't launch or you get an error, try a different usb cable.

Goodluck.

You need to download a "Twain Driver and Epson Scan Utility" from
the Epson Website.

But before you start downloading the Twain Driver we need to delete
the previously installed driver in your computer.

1.) Click and open the MAC or Apple Hard drive / Application and trash Epson Scan and Epson Scanner Monitor ( drag it to your trash )
2.) MAC hard drive / Library / Image Capture / Twain Data Source., we need to trash ( *.ds file )
3.) MAC hard drive / Library / Application Support., trash the Epson Scanner Module
4.) Disconnect the connection ( USB ) between the printer and your MAC.
5. ) Empty your Trash bin and restart your MAC

After the restart we can now download and install the Twain driver to your MAC.

I have a HP photosmart C6180 all-in-one and I am trying to scan a picture onto the computer but every time I go to the scan menu it says Error: Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)

I get this every now and then, usually because, during a scan, I abort for some reason--reset the computer, force-quit, whatever.  The printer driver, I think, leaves some breadcrumbs that it can't recover from when it runs again.
Anyway, I reset the printing system and install the latest HP driver.  If that doesn't work, I delete the HP folder in the Applications folder; then remove whatever files I can find in the /Library folder such as Application Support/Hewlett-Packard, Application Support/HP, any HP file in Preferences, Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/HPScanPro.ds.
Then reinstall the driver and things work fine.  I'm thinking this last item, the HPScanPro.ds in the TWAIN folder might be the culprit but I haven't tried just remove it alone--after I remove everything things work so I can't "try it again"...and don't want to!  =)
Anyway, I've had success with this method.  Good luck!
