NEXT TIME IT SHUTS DOWN: when green light goes out on THE FRONT OF THE SET: press and hold BOTH the menu and input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release.
This is the self check this model has---power light should blink a two digit code---for example--two blinks, a pause and two blinks and the set will repeat the error code about 10 times.
1 blink and then 2 blinks is NO ERROR DETECTED 2 blink and then 2 blinks is short protect
ETC.....Let me know if you get an error code and I will tell you what the problem is---hope you find 2,2 that is the most common and the most easy to repair.
Sometimes the control panel switches on the front of the set go bad.
Try running your fingers across the buttons to see if it helps.
I ended up disconneting the front panel switch board and just use the remote now.
Listen: you need to wait for the set to first shut off! then push on the TV(not the remote) Input and Menu both at the same time for 5 seconds and then release---the power light will then blink---this model has this feature--
I sent it out for repair. $700 bucks total, but now the color is bad and the HD isn't set properly. They'll be coming back out this week sometime to fix both.
How do you fix a loss of horizontal deflection?
