Servis 1200 very noisy in spin modes. Inner drum seems to be very loose and wobbly. Noise sounds like a roller with flat spots running on the drum, or a very bad (failed) bearing. Machine is 12 years old,...

the bearings have gone, if the drum can be split, remove complete drum and replace bearings, if you dont think its something you can do, dont attempt it, but to be honest, its realitivly easy

Model 8600 , drum makes loud noise, not a squeak

HI,

If your dryer is noisy, check these:

Rollers
Idler pulley
Glides
Rear drum bearing
Blower wheel
Rollers Many dryers use rollers or wheels to support the clothes drum. When these rollers are worn, they can be noisy. You should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time.

Idler pulley Dryers have a tension or idler pulley that keeps tension on the main drive belt. When it's worn, it can be noisy. When that happens, don't lubricate it. Just replace it.

Glides Many dryers use nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn, they can be noisy. When that happens, replace them.

Rear drum bearing Some dryers support the clothes drum in the rear with a center spindle instead of rollers. The spindle may be a ball-and-socket type support or a shaft through a sleeve. When the components are worn, they may squeak, squeal, or rub. You can't repair them. Just replace them when they're worn.

Blower wheel Your dryer's blower wheel pulls air over the heat source, through the clothes drum, and past the thermostats, then pushes it out the exhaust duct. The blower wheel, which is usually plastic, may wear out over time. But if it's noisy, it may simply be clogged with lint. Clean the blower and test to see if the dryer is still noisy. If it is, you probably need to replace it.

Noisy bearing while spinning

The seal in the drum has failed allowing water to leak into the bearings causing them to rust. Once the bearings are no longer round, the bearing noise will get louder. To replace, the washer needs to be taken apart and the drum needs to be removed in order to replace the bearings. Can be a difficult and expensive repair. Get a few estimates before deciding whether it is worth reparing. Sorry.

The drum is very noisy when it turns and spins? There is no rattle but it sounds very raspy.

Sounds like the main drum bearings have failed.
Remove rear panel, and remove the drive belt.
From the front open the door ,and spin the drum by hand,
If it feels rough, or is rumbling at all, then the main drum bearings have failed.
If no obvious noise, then it could be the motor bearings that are noisy.
Hope this helps.

Washing machine noisy when on a spin

  • If a washing machine is very noisy on spin, the main suspect is the drum bearings. Drum bearing failure is common on many washing machines due to water getting into them if the drum bearing seal fails. (Hotpoint and Zanussi in particular in my experience) To check for drum bearing failure you can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand. If the drum rumbles when spun then the bearings may have gone. There should be a constant rumble all the time the drum is revolving.
  • Another drum bearing failure symptom is excessive up and down play in the drum which can be checked for by lifting the drum up and down from the drum lip behind the door seal. A further symptom of drum bearing failure can be a brown rust patch underneath the washing machine and down the back of the outer drum, underneath the drum pulley (where the belt goes) although this patch is not always present. There are usually two small holes at the back of the drum bearings where water that has got past the drum bearing seal trickles out, and it's usually stained with grease and rust if water has got into the bearings.

    Wm noisy

drum bearings, check and investigate, remove drive belt and then rotate, if still noisy then yes its the drum bearings, if the noise stops when the belt removed the motor bearings are faulty costly repair on most models, sorry oh there is also the possibility there is something lodged within the drum cavity between the lining and the drum casing
