Check the gas pack as mentioned above. If not check down the line for any leaks , air or fuel. Also check the "needle" on the diaphragm inside the carb. And or the fuel jet settings.
It may be that the gas cap no longer vents, allowing air to enter the tank as gas is being used. Try to have cap loose to see it it is the problem, and if it is, a very small hole on cap needs to be opened or made.

try playing with the throttle adjustment or it could be a saftey feature malfunction, like the seat shutoff for example.

Check your spark first,if you do not have spark your problem is the coils-if you do have spark the problem probaly lies withone of your valves getting stuck after getting hot and soonas it cools down a little it closes and then you can restart it till it gets hot again.Hope this helps

do you have the right fuel filter? some are for pressure and some are for gravity feed, the pressure type (fuel pump) wont flow the gas correctly. another possibility would be the coil.

I had the same problem and talked to 3 different techs. The only solution they would come up with is to replace the carb. I didnt believe this was the problem. If you have a fuel solenoid on the bottom of the float bowl remove it and just put in a float bowl plug that threads in. I just taped up the solenoid connector. It runs better than it ever did. I believe the solenoid gets hot and starts shutting off the fuel. I used a plug from a spare set of 1977 yamaha motorcycle carbs I had sitting around.Go figure. Hope this works
