32''LCD TV Polaroid FLM-3201 - picture crackling and color fading

After we have had our TV on for a couple of hours, the picture appears to "crackle" - then the color gradually fades to black and white. We called our cable company who sent a technician out today to check their box. After checking all of the cables, the technician said it looks like the problem is with the TV.

The TV is only 2 years old. We don't really know where to take it for repair.

Thank you.

TV disconnected from cable system and reconnected to Dish satellite system and no color picture although a sharp black and white picture appears.

Sounds just like a loose solder connection. The trick is finding it. I would start with the microchips and the large transformer. Otherwise, it could be a capacitor starting to short out. I would give both options a 50-50 chance to be the problem.

Flm-3201

Sounds like the back light is out, and the unit needs servicing. You can check this by shining a flashlight close to the surface, and if some image is seen, the the back light is the cause. Else the LCD driver is gone.
