Problems with the elbow coming off of macerator.

We installed a saniflo plus macerator for a full bathroom in March. Since just yesterday, whenever someone takes a shower, the rubber elbow off of the macerator actually comes off and water starts spraying out. We've re-clamped this, but it happened again today. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?

SOURCE: My macerator turns off and stops working for 10 - 15 minutes

the macerator is over heating.check the maintenance opening and clean it ,but you may need a more powerful macerator, some are made only for flushing systems (as in toilets) a pro-longed use may be making it overheat.. good luck

SOURCE: Saniflo Macerator Noise

If it's a one shot cleaning and not an ongong additive, bleach can be used to dissolve the tissue.

I have a toilet with a push button flush mechanism (allowing half or full flush). The toilet has a macerator behind it. If you flush the toilet and the macerator jams, the push button stays stuck in and...

This seems like a problem with your cistern and not your macerator - I have a similar set up and if your push button is stuck you need to check the mechanism in the cistern - also you should have an overflow that drains into your loo within the cistern so you should check this for blockages as well.

Saniplus draining in pulses

When you flush the toilet, the Saniplus will turn on and off once or twice, this is normal. If it turns on 3 times or more then could be a problem with venting or the discharge pipe installation may not be properly installed. But when you run the sink or shower it will turn on and off constantly, this is normal. The Saniplus pumps out the water as it comes in.

I recently had a Saniflo unit replaced after 20 years + of excellent service from previous model. The macerator serves a single toilet. It does seem rather noisy ( certainly not 30% quieter as suggested)...

David,

I am not directly familiar with this unit but have worked with others. The bubbling sound at the end of the run does sound odd. My thoughts go towards venting of this discharge pipe; is this properly vented?
Thank you,
Tom
