Front panel connector is 4 pins + one empty on top row and 5 pins and one not connected on bottom row.
From the left on top row, 1st 2 are power led, next 2 are power switch, next has no pin
From the left bottom row 1st 2 are hdd led, next 2 are reset (rst) led, last ob right has no connection.
Note the power led and hdd led connectors produce a light when pc is on, if the light does not come on, power off the pc, turn the cables through 180 degrees and turn back on and a light will show

I need the wiring diagram that shows where on the motherboard to plug the power switch ,power LED, and HDD Led on a T6520 emachine desktop

Most Motherboards are made to only accept certain plugs in that specific spot! If you are trying to add something new like a new Fan or LED, or HHD and you need power you would have to use a 4 prong plug off the power supply, If your power supply does not have any more available plugs, Amazon.com or Newegg.com sells splitters!

Good Luck and Best Wishes!

I have a serial ATA mobile disk drive, model # HD-338-SSC. My computer no longer recognizes the device and the power button on the device displays the standard green light. I tried connecting the device to...

Most of these problems are associated with an I.C. on the board that governs the HHD. Unfortunately, the chip gets pitted (overheats) on the GaAs and is ruined. The green light (LED) on the HHD will turn on as it is getting power but the main chip that controls the HHD no longer works thus rendering the HHD inoperative.

Bottom line, get a new external drive. Should you get the same model or something similar to what type of electronic hardware you have, you can remove the new HHD and put your old HHD in its place and you will see that all of your data is still intact.

Number codes for giving connections to HDD led,Power led, Reset SW & Power SW to motherboard

Those are really tricky and always vary from motherboard to motherboard.
without the exact model no one will be able to tell you exactly. But I'd recommend that you start out with the power (pw) plug and try trial and error. The only ones really necessary are the pw and reset. the only 2 that are polarity sensitive are the HDD light and pw led.

Motherboard Pinout - Please Help

here are some sites that may help you.
all these should be marked power switch may say pw,prs,ps, power led may say pld, pl,led, hhd say hd, reset switch maysay rs, set, these connection will be grouped together, and pin layout 1 red or hot wire, or the main wire for the device you are trying to operate.
www.motherboards.org
www.tomshardware.com
www.twinight.org/chipdir/
www.anandtech.com

the connections to the back plate is standard the amount of pins match up the cable, the number 1 pin will be marked some how and or the cable will only be able to plug in one way.
with an exception if you are using serial connector and we hardly use them. the rules are the same as above, and plug ins maybe one way also.

the ribbon type will have a marking on the cable or ribbin line or dots or hasshs marks that is pin #1
match with pin out on motherboard pin1 or pin 0,

I unplug the power led, power sw and HHD led

Gateway's support site should have a nice diagram for you in your manual--they are also quite helpful if you have trouble locating it.
