An 'alignment' doc appeared in queue and can't be deleted. Have tried deleting the printer, won't delete. Have tried adding another printer, documents queued in that won't print (presumably because first printer is stuck). Have tried clearing spool. Any clues?

Have you tried going to safe mode, turning off the printer and manually opening it at the control panel>printers... try and delete or cancel prinitng at these settings...
SOURCE: Docs in queue won't cancel so I can print another document
turn of the printer and unlug the data cable.
go to start>>printer and faxes, open the printer queue and deleted the job.
plug in the data cable and turn on the printer
SOURCE: unable to delete doc after being sent to printer
First, I would try canceling the document either at the printer (hit cancel if it has already been sent) or at the computer.
You can do this by going to start -> settings -> printers and faxes
double click on the printer to open it
right click on the offending file and hit delete
It sounds like both of these have been done already. So...next option.
Second option - Restart the print spooler
Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
Click on the "Print Spooler"
Select Restart
Third option - delete the document from the spooler
Stop the Print Spooler by following the instructions above and clicking "stop"
Delete all files in the c:\windows\system32\spool\printers directory
Restart the print spooler.
CAUTION!!! - This will clear out both the offending job and any other jobs that have been sent to the printer after the offending job. If you have a number of other jobs, you may wish to clear out only the offending job from the printers directory.
Hope this helps - flub

Dear Ralph
plz check ur printer cable from both end if they are connected properly or not , if the cable connected then uninstall the printer driver and restart the system . After restarting the system then reinstall the printer driver with proper port configuration setting (For USB Cable - Port DOT4 or USB & For Com Cable Port LPT or Com) then after installing restart the system again and when the system start then check by giving print .
