I have a 5 year old, Whirlpool, double, electric oven. This morning we turned on the the self cleaning function and left for work. When we came home the top oven was clean (only the top oven has the self cleaning function) but the oven was no longer working. The digital clock was off, the light didn't turn on and and we couldn't turn on either oven. I checked the circuit breaker and it was fine. We have used the self cleaning function several times in the past without any problems. Is there some internal reset button that was tripped or fuse that was blown? Why would the oven just stop working?
What can be checked now is the door lock mechanism. Sometimes during a lock out which prevents you from opening the door. They will go out during a clean cycle. Now the wires from this solenoid need contact some supply ground to oven temp relay some supply power ,which helps the relay points activate which activates the oven heating elements. Although it is possible for the oven temp relay to have gone out it is just unlikely. I am sure if you start a continuity test on the oven door lock following the wires back to the control panel and oven relay you will find you problem in this area. Remember to rate my solution it is how i receive my achievements. Thanks in advance. Also sometimes Unplugging the unit can release some sticking or inoperative solenoids and relays. Good Luck and if you need my assistance further feel free to ask for me.
The quickest easiest solution is to call an appliance repair place and have them come and fix it. I have had the internal fuses blow on on three separate occassions, all caused when the self cleaning function was used. Another solution is to place an inline circuit breaker to the fuse so the breaker will pop first rather than blowing a 40 dollar fuse. The circuit breaker should not be greater voltage or current rating than the fuse if you choose to go this route. Otherwise, its pay the repairman to replace it.

Check for correct voltage at plug, in the mean time the oven will be disconnected from any power, see if it resets with no power for 10 minutes

Where's the plug? and how do you check for correct voltage?
I have the same issue - in this case both ovens have the self-clean function and the bottom oven won't work after cleaning. The display, light and fan are all functional, but neither the top or bottom will heat.
Self clean for the upper oven started, everything was going fine and when I checked the oven a couple of hours later it was dead. What's worse is that it has locked me out. There is no display on the board or anything and I can't open the upper door because of the lockout mechanism. What now?
I've got ~120V into the PC board inside the oven, but no lights.
I have a self cleaning top oven also and went out with only 40 minutes left on the self clean. When I got home the oven is black no power anybody try the power source for 10 minutes?
oven is under counter and 25 years old
