Most often when a range turns on by itself, a relay on the control board is shorting. The contacts inside the relay have burnt over the years building up a carbon resulting in the contacts being real close together. Walking across the floor or bumping can cause the contacts to touch and turn on the bake element. It will stay on until you unplug the unit. Got a model number? I will research and see what kind of a solution I can supply for you.
Waiting to hear from you,Eric and Ann Campion

Why the cooling fan does not work on one the upper over of KEBS278

First check that the fan itself has not failed. If the fan and wiring are ok, your EOC (electronic oven control) has failed. This is NLA (no longer availabe). The Whirlpool part number is 3187895. This can be rebuilt: See:

Kitchenaid gas range keeps beeping intermittantly, oven turns on by itself and code F2:E1 keeps comiong up on pad. What is the problem

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F2-E1 in your Kitchen Aid range indicates shorted keypad. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Replace oven baking element on Kitchen Aid model # KESC300BWH6

It is easy!! After you remove the two screws pull straight out and do so easily, there are two female spade connectors on the element that you'll have to remove. When removing don't pull on the wire itself, pull on the connector. You may have to use pliers.

Kitchen Aid superba (electric oven)

you will need electrical meter. Take unit out of hole remove back plate( unplug or turn breaker off first). Turn power back on set temp for bake check leads to element. If no voltage replace control

Kitchen aid slide in range - oven stopped working

Wynco, first thing I'd check is whether or not you are getting the 220 volts the unit needs. Find the circuit breaker and turn it off and then back on. This should be a dual or linked breaker. The breakers do corrode and wear out and may need to be replaced.
