There is a rattle when my washer is on spin cycle. It is not a constant rattle...it is intermittent. At first, I thought it was a coin or rock in with the clothes. It is coming from the top half of the machine between the bowl and the case of the machine.

as long as your sure its an item between the tub assy the baffles in the drum can be removed and item fished out. but ifsomething snapped on the rear of the drum you would need to replace it. the baffle part number is 8182233, its about $40 thinknin thats worth a try before 475. the lower acess panel could also be removed and the main tub to pump hose could be removed which would give you a 3in hole to look through and try to grab somethin. worth a try

The washer drew half a tub of water on the "Bulky items" cycle, and stopped. All the lights on the cycle dial light up and flash, the machine beeps and the me error message in the "estimated time remaining" field is "Ld". I've tried to shut the machine down and change the cycle to "drain and spin" but it will not agitate, won't drain or spin.

you either have a broken shock or the spider gear is gone, take off the bottom panel and check out the shocks,if it's the spider gear it's time for new washer,it's around 500 bucks for new gear,to much detergent used over the years eats at the metal

I have the manual that came with the machine. It is useless for troubleshooting anything other than codes given on the screen.
I am pretty sure that the drain pipe or drain pump have coins or rocks in it.....
So, I guess I need to know how to access those to check them for debris.
I found this video to be helpful. We took off both pumps and removed the washer basket finding.....2 dimes, 3 pennies, a quarter, a sock, and what was a pillowcase inside in various nooks and crannies.
All is working smoothly now. My hubby and I also feel pretty confident about fixing it now that we see how simple it can be. :) No more repair man bils for us with this complete video on taking it all apart!
