What is factoring and give the examples

Quick-Start Guide When you enter an expression into the calculator, the calculator will simplify the expression by expanding multiplication and combining like terms. At this point the calculator will attempt to factor the expression by dividing a G C F, and identifying a difference between two squares, or factorable trinomials. Use the following rules to enter expressions into the calculator. Variables Any lowercase letter may be used as a variable. Exponents Exponents are supported on variables using the ^ (caret) symbol. For example, to express x 2, enter x ^ 2. Note: exponents must be positive integers, no negatives, decimals, or variables. Exponents may not currently be placed on numbers, brackets, or parentheses. Parentheses and Brackets Parentheses ( ) and brackets [ ] may be used to group terms as in a standard expression. Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction For addition and subtraction, use the standard + and - symbols respectively. For multiplication, use the * symbol. A * symbol is optional when multiplying a number by a variable. For instance: 2 * x can also be entered as 2x. Similarly, 2 * ( x + 5 ) can also be entered as 2 ( x + 5 ) ; 2 x * ( 5 ) can be entered as 2 x ( 5 ). The * is also optional when multiplying parentheses, example: ( x + 1 ) ( x - 1 ). Order of Operations The calculator follows the standard order of operations taught by most algebra books - Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, Addition and Subtraction. The only exception is that division is not currently supported; attempts to use the / symbol will result in an error. Division, Square Root, Radi cals, Fractions Division, square root, radi cals, and fractions are not supported at this time. A future release will add this functionality.

that's all I can say basically I learned it this way.

4 squre root 81

Take the fourth root. The square root, denoted by a 2 on top of the "root thing" or more commonly without a number at all, is the second root.

Usually the easiest way to calculate the fourth root is to calculate the square root of the square root. So in this case the fourth root of 81 is the square root of the square root of 81. The square root of 81 is 9, the square root of 9 is 3.

How do i work out the square root of 169 without a calculator

I assume you can do long division by hand if necessary.

Take a guess at the square root. Let's say 10.
169 / 10 = 16.9
Average of 10 and 16.9 is 13.45
169 / 13.45 = 12.57
Average of 13.45 and 12.57 is 13.01
169 / 13.01 = 12.99
Average of 13.01 and 12.99 is 13.00
169 / 13.00 = 13.00
Thus the square root of 169 (to four digits) is 13.00

The closer the guess the fewer cycles you'll need to go.

For other roots, you can use the [nth-root] function, the shifted function of the key above the divide key. For example, to calculate the fourth root of 16, press 1 6 2nd [nth-root] 4 =

How do I calculate the standard deviation on an Aurex Prestige calculator?

Hi
standard devition is easy once you get your head around it for grouped data you have to take the equation apart so put in the sum of f then bracket (x-mean) squared and then divide by the sum of f and square root everything on the calculator. And then for non-grouped data you need to do the sum of (x-mean)squared then divided by the sum of n and once again square root everything.
Hope this helps

HOW TO FIND CUBE ROOT

There is a way to do it. I believe you go into "complex" or "math" buttons. These buttons are yellow on the calculator. Therefore, to access them you must hit "2nd" then the button.

Better yet, you can also get around this dilemma another way. You can enter "the cubed root of x" by raising x to 1/3.

For example the cubed root of x = x^(1/3). It is best to place parentheses around 1/3 so the calculator knows exactly what you mean.

Another example, the "cubed root of (x + 1)" can be entered by:
(x+1)^(1/3) Note the parenteses around both (x+1) and (1/3). This applies if the radical cover both "x" and "1".

Hope this helps.
