How do I get my HP2575 printer to pick up the paper in the paper tray?

I can't get my printer to pick up the paper in the paper tray and I have tried roughing up the rollers with an emry board and cleaned the rollers with alcohol but nothing seems to help. Should I just throw it away or how can I fix it?

Hi jtheiss,

When you send a print or copy to the printer does the pickup tires attempt to pickup the paper?

SOURCE: Printer is leaving black ink marks all over paper.

Running cardstock lightly misted with water or dilute cleaning solution through several times can help. Use either the feed button or print using a program that allows you to print blank pages.

SOURCE: HP Laserjet 2100 not picking up paper from main tray

You could try simply cleaning the feed roller but it desirves more than that from the sounds of your relationship

The fed rollers are probally worn and need replacement,as you have had it for a long time and it has treated you well why not do the machine a favour and have a maintence kit fitted.

SOURCE: Photo Paper Feed

hi,

the issue that you have might need to change some settings from the printing properties. WHen you hit on PRINT, a box will open, right? look on the top right of that box, you will see "PROPERTIES" or "Preferences" just click on it, then another box will open. Click on Printing Shortcuts tab, try to review the settings. And if you want to print using the main tray, it should set it to Automatic select or Main tray. And make sure that it sets to General Printing. But if youre going to print a photo, you will have options there to choose what type of paper when you click on that, the settings on the paper size, paper source, etc. will change also. For paper source, make sure that it sets to Photo Tray.

If you will be able to open printing preferences, all options are there, you just need to read and choose which settings you want to use.

Thank you so much.

Check the gear on the left side of your printer where the disk encoder strip is attach, the gear is not holding the metal shaft your need to replace that gear. The problem is in the inner hole where the shafting is attached.

Our infoprint 1125 is on a ibm mid range computer system & is accessible to 9 users. when we print an envelope, the printer asks for a manual load of the envelope, how do i change this to automatic...

It's been my experience with these machines that envelopes are always fed through the manual feed tray.

The Tray 2 cassette's pick up assembly is different than the manual feed,
it has 2 rollers that have a wide area they can pick up while the manual feed has just 1 single roller.
If you remove the tray cassette and look under the printer you can see the two rollers, these would probably have a hard time picking up a standard size envelope.
Also the tray would have to path the paper up and would have to bend it through the paper path which can cause problems with the flaps on the envelopes.

Best method is to use the manual feed tray and to also have the back cover open so that the envelopes path straight through the printer without being curled.

(I've seen these in a ton of places ranging from small business to banks and they always have the envelopes in the manual feed)

Always paper jam at the cassette tray

Odds are that you will need the paper pick up & paper feed & paper seperation roller replaced. Also, have you taking the paper tray out and look to see if there is paper bushed behind the paper tray? Good Luck
