Printer message is remove and check color cartridge
I have this same problem...and here is how I "fixed" it. I cleaned the connection points first off. I still received the same message. There is a little metal peice that the cartridge fits into(it kind of looks like the easter egg holder that you dye easter eggs with)...I just pushed that peice up a little so the cartridge would fit the way it is suppose to. I then received a message that my cartridge was the wrong type. So I pushed the little metal peice down a smidge...then it worked. I just "fixed" it so I can't say for how long it will stay that way...but for now it works. Hope this helps!!!!
Remove the colour cartridge and clean the circuit on the cartridge.if does not help replacement of the cartridge is required.

I've been using the approved HP cartridges ever since I bought this printer, but suddenly started seeing this "Remove and check color cartridge" message yesterday. There's no indication that the cartridge is even close to empty, and it's been printing fine all along. I took the cartridge out and put it back in, turned the printer off and on, rebooted my MacBook, and even installed the latest HP printer driver, but the message remains. You'd think it would let me print in black only, but it won't. I tried calling HP Tech Support, but after giving them all my info and waiting to be transferred to Level 2 support, I got a message saying Macintosh support is closed on weekends.
I have exactly the same problem. I will let you all know if chanign the cartridge does NOT solve the problem. I sthere a warranty on the cartridge. Printing in color is expensive enough without HP producing shoddy parts that slow you down and cost you more money.
I put a new color and black cartridge in printer. A few days later got the an error message "Remove and check color cartridge". Very Frustrating!!!
