Can't locate aux function

I can seem to locate the aux function on my DEH-P460MO cd player. I connected a cd-rb20/cd-rb10 cable to run my mp3 player through my cd player. My instruction book says to use the function key and locate the aux function, but the aux function does not come up as an option to pick. What might I be doing wrong

My stereo has the choices of CD, Tuner and Aux. I don't know what button I hit, but the CD option went away. I have a CD in the player and need to get it out. How do I get the CD option back?

Try turning the unit off first - Pioneer manuals are notorious for mentioning this at the beginning of the section, which doesn't really help if you skip to the part that you are interested in.

I cant figure out where the input rca cables go in my deh p7400. i am trying to use my ipod with it. i have turned aux on.

The 7400 does not have an RCA input, you need to purchase a separate adapter like this one. It is also known as a "CD-RB10" and a search on ebay will bring up plenty of options. Cheers, Dan

Aux in runs only back speakers and no volume control

This also happened to me, I just replaced the cable and works fine now.

Do i need to buy a cable to run my mp3 player on cd player

Hello jaredsmick,

Yes, you should be able to plug your MP3 player into the DEH-P3700. You will need a cable. While I'm not certain as to what type of output jack your player has, it's most likey a "mini-jack". Here's a link to what it looks like:

http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/download-model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=10185

You'll also need to make sure that the "AUX" source is turned on in the Pioneer. To do this, press FUNCTION repeatedly until AUX appears in the display. Press up/down to turn ON or OFF and the status will be displayed.

Hope this helps.

Aux

there is an interconnector to connect this unit to the aux source (CD-RB20/CD-RB10)(sold seperately).
After connecting, press SOURCE until AUX appears in the display.
Press "play" on your ipod.
i sincerely hope this answers your question.

Using Aux Input in a Pioneer AVH-5700DVD

I'm not sure what aux input you're using - but be advised that if you've plugged your mp4 player directly into the RCAs in the back that won't work - those are outputs, not inputs.

You need to use a Pioneer CD-RB10 (or CD-RB20 if you're running a cd changer, XM tuner, or any other IP-bus component) in order to get an auxiliary input.

If you've done that - you need to go to the initial settings menu and set aux input to 'on'. Instructions are in this link, page 89.

Aux sound problem

It sounds like you've connected to the front or rear audio RCA output.

Pioneer CD players generally don't have a direct auxiliary input like that - what you'll have to do is get a CD-RB10 adapter(it plugs into the CD changer connector on the back, and your cable would plug into that).

Auxilary

If your cd player is a DEH-P4600MP (mp3 player)then you have to turn off the player first, then press the button on the upper right hand corner of the faceplate and then scroll through the menu and find aux to turn it off or on with the "wheel" on the right on the faceplate. You will also find the alarm and clock settings there in the menu as well but the key is to make sure the player is off first while doing this or you can't access the menu. To use the auxillary input on the back of the unit you need to purchase (eBay has them) an aux input adapter ref CD-RB10 cable. Hope this helps.
