Battery Problems Canon eos 10D

The life of my batteries is drastically reduced compared to how long they should last. I put them on charge for the right amount of time and my battery charger is indicating full charge when i turn it off. After putting them in my camera they last about 10 minuites and i get the empty battery icon and the camera turns itself off. But if i take the battery out and warm it in my hand, once i put it back in the camera i get the half battery icon and it works again for a few minuites. I have tried the two obvious solutions of buying a new battery and a new charger, but this has had no effect and i still have a drastically reduced battery life. I have bought a canon brand battery but my charger is only a canon compatable charger.

My battery works for weeks. It might be a problem with the camera. Could it be the contact points in the camera?

Battery door

To purchase a battery door for your D10, go to eBay and search for "10D battery door." You will see several for sale and they run around $7.00.

Hope that helps,

.HAVEN'T USED 10D FOR A LONG LONG TIME AND

Here are a few things to try:

1. Remove the main battery and the small backup battery (CR2025) from the battery compartment. Charge your main battery and put both batteries back in once your main battery has been charged. Sitting without batteries will give the camera a chance to reset itself.

2. You may have a bad CF card. Try starting your camera without a CF card or use another.

3. Try reloading the firmware (camera's operating system) using this link Canon. http://web.canon.jp/imaging/EOS10D/10D_firmware-e.html
Be careful to follow instructions exactly as restarting the camera in the middle of a firmware update will brick it and you will need to send it back to Canon for repair.

Hope that helps,

I have a canon 10D that is getting an "error 99".

You could've used a non-compatible lens or the contacts are dirty. Turn the camera off then use a clean micro fiber cloth or pencil eraser to clean the contacts.

My Canon 10D will not Power On. Do I need the original battery ? Currently I have A battery from my Canon 30D in the 10D.

According to Canon, the battery should work in either camera. Does the battery work in the other camera but not in the 10D?

I have Cannon EOS Rebel xsi. The camera does not take picture when press the shutter in all modes. There is no error message. Have change the memory card, recharge the battery and none work.

Hello Sure !

The probleme :
The Shuteer Has A cable Connected to Recorder
Maybe The cable Has Cutted when you Shut ,or Maybe Cutted When You Charged The Battery cause When your put your camera on the charge , the cable goes be hot and it should be cutted .

Solving The Probleme :
1) I advise You To Change The Cable
2) Push The Reset Button
3) Charge It Again

It works 100%

I have a 10d digital camera. battery gos dead after shooting 15+

Try cleaning your battery terminals. You can use a little rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. If you are still having issues then you will need to get another battery as that battery is shot

Canon eos 1ds battery life

This is a year old post and I would hope you have an answer by now, if not no harm I guess.
The batteries that first came with Canon's 1 Series cameras where pretty good sort of. Mine is a (NI-MH Battery) and would last about 300 frames with lots of viewing and powering the IS lens. Big thing about these batteries you need to use them up completely before charging if you don't and charge the thing part way through the battery has a memory and you then get less use before having to charge it again. I then bought two more third party batteries which do not have the memory. When on a shoot I load up the Canon battery shoot through it and then switch it out for the "No Name" battery which B.T.W. is 2200mAh and I get about 500 frames, lots of viewing and powering the IS lens. Bonus was to me I got two third party batteries for half the cost of one Canon battery

Canon 10d won't turn on

well got a little advice from a friend and here is what he suggested the lens might not be on all the way so try taking it off and putting it back on as stupid as this sounds it actually worked when i did it on mine also even though you've probably done it already clean the battery's contacts and the ones in the camera and hopefully that's all the bigger the problem is. good luck
