Bosch Maxx WFL2061 Scraping sound when rotating the drum

Hi - Out of the blue the machine has developed a scraping sound when I rotate the drum. Otherwise it works fine. Can you please assist? Will it completly fail soon? I have exactly the same problem. When I took the lid off the machine to have a look, everything is encased in a plastic drum so to go further looks like a complete dismantle.

Sounds like a bra wire, probably stuck around a heater try placing bright torch under the machine and have a look in the drum to confirm, a bright torch should shine through the plastic and give you an idea of what it is. also check the holes in the drum for damage any raised holes could tear clothes during the wash.
If it is a bra wire, the easiest way is to remove is to remove the heater (it usually tangles here) but taking the heater out can break the seals you may have to replace the whole heater (£15-20) when replacing the old heater rub a little fairy liquid on the rubber seal. and when fitted put the machine on a rinse this is the highest water setting if it is going to leak it will leak then just have a few towels and a quick hand to turn the machine off incase it leaks.

DRUM WILL NOT ROTATE AND WHEN MOVED BY HAND MAKES A SCRAPING NOISE

the drum belt is broken and this lets the belt tensioner ride on the motor shaft which gives you the scraping noise, you need to remove the front and top cover to replace the belt

DRUM MAKES NOISE WHEN TURNING ALMOST LIKE IT'S RUBBING AGAINST SOMETHING INSIDE THE MACHINE. SOUNDS LIKE DRUM IS TRYING TO STICK AT SOME POINT OF ROTATION.

check that all the support springs are connected and one is not broken. It is also possible that something is between the drum and the frame.

Told by several GE Service Techs that the noise is normal metal expansion & nothing can be done. Anyone else have this issue?

No drum action from my Bosch Maxx for Kids

Hi, How old is your maxx? Have you ever experienced this before?
This is quite a common problem and can be sorted quite cheap to. You will need to take the back off depending on which model you have to access the motor! Take the motor off and then we can sort the problem.....

Scraping sound when tub is rotating.

The motor turning the drum may be bad OR the spindle or axle the drum turns on may be bad as well. The belt turning the drum may have been to tight thus putting too much pressure on the drum which eventually would wear it out then causing the noise which will only get louder as time goes on.
You will need to take off the back of the dryer and possibly the top to gain proper access to the drum and motor.
