My Kohler faucet (Model R10412-CP) is leaking a thin stream of water. I think it's a ball faucet. The water is coming out just above where the ball meets the faucet neck. I do not know how to remove the faucet handle so I can look to inspect the seals. There doesn't seem to be a screw to detach it from the rest of the faucet. There is a large rotating piece below the faucet handle. I can turn it, but it doesn't unscrew all the way. Even if I am able to open the top of the faucet, I'm not sure what I would need to tighten or replace to fix the leak.
You will have to replace the ball assembly with a repair kit
1 turn the water off under the sink (hot and cold)
remove the handle ( you may need an allen head wrench to remove a hex screw or you may have to take a channel lock pliar and unscrew achrome
nut over the ball mechanism
after the handle comes off there is usually some type of lock nut that you must remove to remove the ball mechanism
remove the ball (usually chrome or brass(ther are usually little springs and rubber washers under ball
take ball and washer to ACe or lowes and match the pieces (usually sold as a kit
follow directions and installl
turn water on and pat yo!ur self on the back !

if you look on the back there's a little oval-ish thing that you can pop off with the a screw driver. Underneath that you'll see a little hex slot you can get to with a hex screw driver. From there, though, I don't know how to take off the retaining nut to get to the cartridge, where I think the problem originates (I have the same problem)
the visible black washer positioned above the swivel ball dislodged and I have replacement parts but no instructions. Please advise. Thanks!
Driving me nuts. Is there types of emco faucets that the handle doesn't come off?
