    Thanks That did it

absolutely the same problem. everytime I clean it. Called Dacor- obviously a design flaw but they wouldn't admit it. Did tell me to search online (that's how I found this) as there was no way I could get someone out before thanksgiving. I have a 48" Dacor range

It happened to me, too. Was baking all day and at the end wanted to brown up a dish and left the door open so I could watch it. Took off the top grill, reached in and rest the high limit switch. Thanks for the info, saved me big $'s getting a technician out here to remove 6 screws and push in a small button.

Different model, same problem. Had to look hard to find the reset switch, but did find and reset it. Thanks so much!

    I have an ERD30S model and I can't find the Hi-limit switch.

    I tried everything you wrote.

So close to the solution and can't reach it: it's frustrating!

    Can anybody help?? Thanks.

I have a ECS130 wall oven and it will not heat above the 135 deg mark - no elements heat. I found the red switch, pushed it in but it didn't click or make any type of tripping sound. There was no pressure on the switch when trying to push it inward. Are you suppose to push it down perpendicular to the floor or push into the switch parallel to the floor?
Is there any pressure or resistance in the switch?

    Thanks.

You are nothing short of AMAZING! Our ECS130 suffered the same element shut down after the broiler was left on. Thank you for saving me money, time and headache. Getting it to function was as easy as the 6 screws and pushing the dark red reset button. Our ECS130 is easily 12 years old and has been fairly faithful so I thought it had died. Cookies are baking as I type. Thanks again!

I have a Dacor RSE 30B oven and have been helped by the posts here. So thanks! For those with the problem that I had: I cleaned my oven just before a big party I was cooking for, and then 4 hrs before the event I couldn't heat the oven. The fan worked, the s tove top burners worked, but no heat at all. I read that if you take the metal plate off that is located at themiddle top of the oven covering the latch sticking out (open oven and you can see the latch), , you can push a red button that will reactivate the oven. I TURNEF OFF the power at the fuse box, 50 amp service, and checked to be sure the oven was OFF! Then opened panel with 6 short phillips head screws. I vacuumed out the dust and cleaned the wires, and couldn't find any red button at all. Almost gave up, tried again with a flashlight, and about 7-8 ' bacvk I saw a tiny red button that I could barely get my fingers on, and ushed it until it clicked and stayed in. Closed up everything and turned power on, and oven WORKS! So thanks for the posts everyone! My oven is 15 yrs old and I almost spent a couple grand for a new one.

I have a Decor Double Oven (ECS227R) and RESET the oven having read this website. Just open the top door, remove the six screws and you'll see a small red button in the back and to the left. Reach your hand in and push it. You'll hear or feel a click, replace the panel w/the six screws, close the door and turn the oven on. Once I got through the comments here, it was very simple...good luck.

I also have a Dacor Model PCS130. This solution worked AND saved me from spending $50-$105 for a service technician to come out just to look at the problem. The high temperature sensor tripped when I kept the door open part way while broiling (never listen to friends who don't have the same oven as yours). Afterwards, I couldn't get the oven to go above the prebake temperature of 135°F using any of the settings (bake, broil, convection bake, etc...). I called Dacor customer service and they told me about the high temperature sensor but wouldn't say how to reset it. They suggested I call a third party technical service company and gave me their numbers. But, I'm glad I found this site... All you have to do is open the oven door and you'll see the grille/grate/steel cover plate where the door latch sticks out of. If you look inside, you can see the electronics that operate the door latch as well as the temperature sensor unit a little farther back. You can even see the RED reset button. But, it's a little too far back for you to press it without removing the cover plate. 6 screws is what holds my cover plate in place. Once that's off, you can reach in and press the RED reset button (I pressed it twice just to make sure) and you'll hear it click. Screw the cover plate back in place. Close the oven door and test it out. It took my oven about 5 minutes to heat up past 135°F so I was unsure if the problem was fixed or not during that time. But, once the oven heated up sufficiently, the temperature began climbing fairly quickly and I was able to breath a sigh of relief. It works! This is such an easy fix, I don't know why Dacor customer support doesn't just tell us how to do it ourselves instead of paying for a service tech to come out and do the same thing. Even better, maybe they should make the reset button more easily accessible (like on the control panel) if they're concerned about people getting in and messing up the other electrical connections when trying to reset the high temperature switch. Computers are far more technically advanced than your oven and THEY have reset/reboot buttons right in front.

Just "repaired" my 11-yr-old Dacor RSD30 dual fuel using this advice. Saved lots of money and beats Pizza Hut for Thanksgiving!

Customer service at Dacor told me this is why they advise NOT running self-clean cycle right before a holiday! I suggested they put that hint on the owner's manual cover.

My oven would not heat. The problem started when the oven door was left open. I have Dacor Preference / Millennia Range (Oven) as shown in the PDF below http://ww2.dacor.com/pdf/useandcare/65167revFs.pdf The solution was easy. Open the oven door. Above the oven chamber, you'll see another thin chamber covered with a metal panel with slots in it. You can look behind the slots and see some wiring and such. Remove the 5 screws for this panel and remove the panel by pulling it down and out. In the chamber behind the panel, you'll see two thick wires running to a black plastic square with a round metal device (heat sensor) on the bottom. On top of this, you'll see a little red button. Press the little red button down till it clicks. This resets the high heat limit circuit. The oven should work - unless there's another problem. Hope this helps.

It sounds like the high limit tripped. This is a switch located behind the grille on the top oven. If you disconnect the power to the oven at the circuit breaker, then take that grille off ( I think its 4 screws and it comes right off). Once you get that cover off, if you look inside you will see a little switch with a red button on top. Reach in with a screwdriver and push that button down until you feel/hear the button click. That should restore the power to the elements. Usually this switch trips beacuse either someone has tried to broil with the door propped open, or if the door seal is hardened or bad, then it will allow excess heat to escape and trip this switch. If it happens again you may want to replace the high limit switch and the door seal. Good Luck!

This seemed to do the trick for my Millenium MCS 130. Running a self-cleaning cycle now to see if fix holds. Smells like its fine. The reset switch was not that easy to find. It was not behind the control panel as I expected, but the panel just underneath that. Then it was rather hidden in the middle of things, but that tiny red button had popped out!
I'd like to accept the fault for this happening, because as others have, I left the oven door open for a few minutes during the broil cycle (knowing this oven doesn't have that old keep door open during broiling requirement) so my deviled chicken didn't burn. It seems to me that this is a safety feature to protect boneheads like me from really destroying our ovens! Just glad I can cancel that service call now. Maybe go have a nice dinner out with that $119 service visit charge (before repairs)!

Also worked for me! What a great solution.

I have a model ECS227 double oven and at first had problems locating the switch. For this model, there is a metal shroud in front of the door latch mechanism. The limit switch is directly behind the latch, so needed to first remove the shroud (just pulls out). Once I figured that out, it was easy to reset the switch and again have a working oven.

I have a Dacor Renaissance double oven (EOR S227 SCH) and have been helped by the posts here. So thanks!

I did the self-clean just before Thanksgiving. My oven basically stopped working after that - it kept cycling and beeping and giving me a C33 error on the control panel.

I tried to reset it by turning off the power at the fuse box, but it didn't work. Then I tried again, and left it off for 5 minutes - no success. Then I tried again, and left it off for 10 minutes - no success. Next time I turned off the power at the fuse box, and waited for an hour - and now the control panel was working.

After all that, I couldn't get any heat from the oven (but the fan worked fine). I shut off the power at the fuse box, and checked to be sure the oven had no power. Then I opened panel by removing 6 short phillips head screws.

I looked carefully with a flashlight, and found the reset switch near the right side, about four inches back. I saw a tiny red button that I could barely get my fingers on. I pushed it until it clicked and stayed in.
Closed up everything and turned power on, and oven WORKS!

Dacor Model PCS130S - The heat elements kicked out when i was broiling. Likely because I had the oven door open too long. As suggested I reset the heat relay red button and it worked. On this model it is installed to the left side and the red button faces right. Its a little hard to see. But it all did the trick. Thanks so much this saved me a service call.

My dacor microwave convection oven won't turn or heat but but the exhaust, time etc. works.

I found the answer on other posts on this website and it saved me $500! I had the same problem with my Dacor Model ECD2278 double oven. After I ran the self cleaning the top oven would not come on and the lower oven ran almost double the temp that was set. To fix: disconnect power to the oven at the circuit breaker. Open the oven door. You'll see the grille/grate/steel cover in front of the door latch mechanism, and it should have about 4 screws holding it in place. Remove the screws then remove the grille cover. On my model the tiny red reset button was on the right side on top of a black plastic round piece which is about 1" in diameter. Press the little button down til it clicks.

Dacro Wall oven (electric) does not heat past 345 degrees on bake or convection bake but broiler works and bottom oven works fine (for bake, convection bake and broil).

it could be the oven temp sensor rod located near the top of the inside of the oven,or possibly the bake element has a hot spot on the element and can no longer pass enough current thru this spot to correctly heat to your settings a hot spot on the element will look discolored in this area

DACOR IS A PEICE ****

The hi limit thermostat probably tripped during self clean. It can be manually reset. Turn off the power and remove the grill under the control panel. There is a two wire switch behind the door latch press in the red button on the switch. Reassemble and turn on the power. If it works you can reset the cooling fan to run longer which could cure your problem. Press and release upper broil button, press and release the up arrow, then hold down the broil button until it reads COOL 000. Press the up arrow until it reads COOL 200. Press cancel. Done.

On the back side of this is a small red button which will reset the limit switch. I had the same issue (everything worked except the any of the heating elements) and quickly resolved.
