My Dacor wont heat, broil or convection after self cleaning. No heat but everything else works

I also have a Dacor Model PCS130. This solution worked AND saved me from spending $50-$105 for a service technician to come out just to look at the problem. The high temperature sensor tripped when I kept the door open part way while broiling (never listen to friends who don't have the same oven as yours). Afterwards, I couldn't get the oven to go above the prebake temperature of 135°F using any of the settings (bake, broil, convection bake, etc...). I called Dacor customer service and they told me about the high temperature sensor but wouldn't say how to reset it. They suggested I call a third party technical service company and gave me their numbers. But, I'm glad I found this site... All you have to do is open the oven door and you'll see the grille/grate/steel cover plate where the door latch sticks out of. If you look inside, you can see the electronics that operate the door latch as well as the temperature sensor unit a little farther back. You can even see the RED reset button. But, it's a little too far back for you to press it without removing the cover plate. 6 screws is what holds my cover plate in place. Once that's off, you can reach in and press the RED reset button (I pressed it twice just to make sure) and you'll hear it click. Screw the cover plate back in place. Close the oven door and test it out. It took my oven about 5 minutes to heat up past 135°F so I was unsure if the problem was fixed or not during that time. But, once the oven heated up sufficiently, the temperature began climbing fairly quickly and I was able to breath a sigh of relief. It works! This is such an easy fix, I don't know why Dacor customer support doesn't just tell us how to do it ourselves instead of paying for a service tech to come out and do the same thing. Even better, maybe they should make the reset button more easily accessible (like on the control panel) if they're concerned about people getting in and messing up the other electrical connections when trying to reset the high temperature switch. Computers are far more technically advanced than your oven and THEY have reset/reboot buttons right in front.

Just "repaired" my 11-yr-old Dacor RSD30 dual fuel using this advice. Saved lots of money and beats Pizza Hut for Thanksgiving!

Customer service at Dacor told me this is why they advise NOT running self-clean cycle right before a holiday! I suggested they put that hint on the owner's manual cover.

My oven would not heat. The problem started when the oven door was left open. I have Dacor Preference / Millennia Range (Oven) as shown in the PDF below http://ww2.dacor.com/pdf/useandcare/65167revFs.pdf The solution was easy. Open the oven door. Above the oven chamber, you'll see another thin chamber covered with a metal panel with slots in it. You can look behind the slots and see some wiring and such. Remove the 5 screws for this panel and remove the panel by pulling it down and out. In the chamber behind the panel, you'll see two thick wires running to a black plastic square with a round metal device (heat sensor) on the bottom. On top of this, you'll see a little red button. Press the little red button down till it clicks. This resets the high heat limit circuit. The oven should work - unless there's another problem. Hope this helps.

It sounds like the high limit tripped. This is a switch located behind the grille on the top oven. If you disconnect the power to the oven at the circuit breaker, then take that grille off ( I think its 4 screws and it comes right off). Once you get that cover off, if you look inside you will see a little switch with a red button on top. Reach in with a screwdriver and push that button down until you feel/hear the button click. That should restore the power to the elements. Usually this switch trips beacuse either someone has tried to broil with the door propped open, or if the door seal is hardened or bad, then it will allow excess heat to escape and trip this switch. If it happens again you may want to replace the high limit switch and the door seal. Good Luck!

I know this is my problem but I can't find my red button

This seemed to do the trick for my Millenium MCS 130. Running a self-cleaning cycle now to see if fix holds. Smells like its fine. The reset switch was not that easy to find. It was not behind the control panel as I expected, but the panel just underneath that. Then it was rather hidden in the middle of things, but that tiny red button had popped out!
I'd like to accept the fault for this happening, because as others have, I left the oven door open for a few minutes during the broil cycle (knowing this oven doesn't have that old keep door open during broiling requirement) so my deviled chicken didn't burn. It seems to me that this is a safety feature to protect boneheads like me from really destroying our ovens! Just glad I can cancel that service call now. Maybe go have a nice dinner out with that $119 service visit charge (before repairs)!

I have a model ECS227 double oven and at first had problems locating the switch. For this model, there is a metal shroud in front of the door latch mechanism. The limit switch is directly behind the latch, so needed to first remove the shroud (just pulls out). Once I figured that out, it was easy to reset the switch and again have a working oven.

HAHA this worked for me. I had the repair guy here , he was going to order me a new thermostat and heating element. I showed him this he doubeted it. I made him do it and now it works. All you have to do if press down on the button and it clicks back on...Thank you very much

I did the self-clean just before Thanksgiving. My oven basically stopped working after that - it kept cycling and beeping and giving me a C33 error on the control panel.

I tried to reset it by turning off the power at the fuse box, but it didn't work. Then I tried again, and left it off for 5 minutes - no success. Then I tried again, and left it off for 10 minutes - no success. Next time I turned off the power at the fuse box, and waited for an hour - and now the control panel was working.

After all that, I couldn't get any heat from the oven (but the fan worked fine). I shut off the power at the fuse box, and checked to be sure the oven had no power. Then I opened panel by removing 6 short phillips head screws.

I looked carefully with a flashlight, and found the reset switch near the right side, about four inches back. I saw a tiny red button that I could barely get my fingers on. I pushed it until it clicked and stayed in.
Closed up everything and turned power on, and oven WORKS!

Just a freindly advice:
this thermostat is seafty thermostat and when it trip it loss 60% of its preformance , wich mean it will start trip more often.
The manufactore advice changing it after it trip.

Can someone tell me where the reset botton is on this oven?

Thanks to everyone for this easy fix--The red button is a little tricky to find and reset but it takes about a minute to hunt it down

I guess I have Bad Luck...My wife put it on self - Clean after thanksgiving...

I pushed the button, but got no click...And still my lower oven won't heat up...

I have The ECD227...Any thoughts?

Dacor Model PCS130S - The heat elements kicked out when i was broiling. Likely because I had the oven door open too long. As suggested I reset the heat relay red button and it worked. On this model it is installed to the left side and the red button faces right. Its a little hard to see. But it all did the trick. Thanks so much this saved me a service call.
