Can you see a green light on located on the mother board ? I had the same problem with mine right after the warrranty was off, The mother board failed, But you should make sure thats it first by making sure everything Inside of the computer is tight and secure.Unplug and make sure there is no power on and unplugged,Before you touch anything inside your computer discharge any static electricity by touching the metal on the inside of the tower. The Memory modules Make sure that they are pushed in securely in there slots and video card is Pushed in and tight, and any other extras you may have plugged into it, After you do all that put everything back and try to reboot see if that get you up and going. If not let me know I can Help You fix it or repair it myself if you would like, just leave message here or email me. [email protected] Happy Holidays

SOURCE: Computer won't turn on unless I unplug the Ethernet Cable
Is the Ethernet built-in on the system board? I would go to BIOS (hit F2 while booting the PC) and disable the ethernet. then restart the PC. See if it stays on with or without the Ethernet cable plugged in. If it does. The built-in Ethernet circuit is the problem. I would buy a Ethernet adapter ($20).and install it. and leave the built-in ethernet disabled.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I have the same model after youlet it sit for a long enough period to cool down it will come back on and work normal, it is a cooling problem called gateway and they confirmed this theproblem I ran in to was what fan this computer has 3. temp fix I used was to remove the tower cover to allow better air flow try this till you can figure out what fan is messing up
SOURCE: gateway computer does not turn on
Without seeing the machine, I'm thinking you have a motherboard problem. But try these troubleshooting steps before throwing in the towell:
Open the case and disconnect the CD cable. Now try it. If it still doesn't work, disconnect the hard drive and try it.
Let me know what happens. I've seen CDs mess up a system like this. I many times will swap out the power supply, but I'm thinking with the lights flashing, its a more serious problem.
