That Sony remote may if batteries removed erase what it was programmed for (several minutes) and should have program instructions on it--if not try to Google the model number of the remote for "manual" which will among other things tell you how to do what you want---Sony on their consumer site may have that manual for free or direct you to a place that does.

Testimonial: "thanks. I further googled the TV model itself and that manual had the explanation for symbols on the remote - turns out I had to hit the "TV/Video" button more than once to access the right DVD play screen - the button on the remote marked "DVD" was useless - go figure! "

Glad you got it resolved--similar situation today with a set in the UK--kid pushed buttons and both the remote and the keyboard were locked out except for on/off--he could not find it but I did--good old buddy Google.

SOURCE: Trying to find programming instructions and codes.

Ok I just got a new universal remote so I have a paper with all the codes. For the Brooksonic the code is 0932 and to program it press the set up button on the top of the remote, then press either the TV, DVD, or VCR button (which ever one you want to use) and then enter the code in. It should work, but I have been trying to program mine for a while now and I cant get it to work, so if anyone can help me out that would be great. I have the code to mine and the instructions, I just cant get it to work!

How to connect rm 230E to a Lasonic DVD

To connect an RM-230E remote control to a Lasonic DVD player, you can try the following steps:
  1. Make sure that the batteries are inserted into the RM-230E remote control and that the Lasonic DVD player is turned on.
  2. Press and hold the "Code Search" button on the RM-230E remote control until the indicator light turns on.
  3. Press the "DVD" button on the remote control.
  4. Press the "Power" button on the remote control. The indicator light on the remote control should blink once.
  5. Release the "Code Search" button. The indicator light on the remote control should remain on.
  6. Use the number buttons on the remote control to enter the code for the Lasonic DVD player. The code can be found in the manual or on the manufacturer's website.
  7. Press the "Enter" button on the remote control. If the code is correct, the indicator light on the remote control should turn off, indicating that the remote control is now programmed to the Lasonic DVD player.
  8. Test the remote control by pressing the various buttons to see if they are working correctly.
If the above steps don't work, you may need to try a different code or consult the manual or the manufacturer's website for further troubleshooting steps.
It's important to note that the steps and the codes may vary depending on the brand and model of the Lasonic DVD player, so it's best to consult the manual for the specific instructions.

Thompson dvd player unlock code dv2137

Just bought THOMSON DV2137 in Australia (region 4) It plays Aus but not US. A small slip in the user's manual gave these (verbatim) instructions. UNFORTUNATELY it isn't working on my player."This unit has been set to play region 4 DVD discs. If you wish to use this unit outside of region 4 territory you can change the region setting by following the instructions below.1) Turn on the unit.2) Remove disc and press SETUP to enter SETUP menu.3) Press VOL+.VOL-,VOL+,VOL-, by order, then press MUTE to enter Region Code setting. [stays in SETUP menu]4) Press LEFT / RIGHT to choose between 1-4 or ALL region."
Perhaps this will work for someone else or will trigger a clue.

SAME old! JVC files mod, have converted with prism to avi in the past, with success. Now DVD player says (once) cannot read (next time) not compatible. using DVD-R

Are you talking about a stand alone dvd players?

If you are talking about a stand alone dvd player, that is correct they do not player .avi extension file. I know some portable dvd player can play avi extension files.

all avi extension files needs the right audio and video codec to be player. All stand alone dvd players does not and can not detect codec for you.

On the issues of dvd-r brands, Some stand alone dvd players can only play dvd+r type dvds. ck your brand of dvd disc and players, make sure they are complatible with each other.

Dvd player will not open disc, display lock

Sound like it either has one or two problems, the door is stuck and or the door eject motor has failed. Look in the front to the player for a small paperclip like hole, and use a paper clip to manual eject the and engage the loading mechanism usually located under the door for most cases. Check you manuals troubleshooting section for manually ejecting a CD..

Please leave comment.
