I have 75K miles on it. Since last couple of weeks, I am hearing A cracking noise each time i start the van. I heard minutely and it comes from engine. Took to autozone, they said it could be valve in engine. COuld cost me $6-7K from dealer. Anyone had this problem and how did u resolve/ Would be of great help to know before i take to dealer. We all know how the dealers are a ripoff. Thanks for any suggestions.

Ther e is a chance your injectors are leakin g down and there is excess fuel in the cylinders. Not a good thing. So, you fuel pressure and injectors need chkg. good luck

I recently experienced the same symptom with my '05 Murano and it was not a fuel problem. The dealer listed the cause as dry axle splines and replaced both front drive shaft assy's. Note that this was done as warranty with no cost incurred by me.
