The main processor is locked up, in printer, remove all power (unplug) from wall and computor for fourty min, and it will reset back to normal, if not reinstall firmware.

What does "100 %" stacked mean?

it means that the printing order for the memory for the printer is full
go to control panel , go to printers and hardware , click on printer right click and it will show a section see what is printing
high light each line and delete that takes away the priority of the stack until there is nothing left to print and the printer should again print at the next selection you make
How the program works is this
there is a small memory in the printer and a large one in the pc
when you have data that is to be printed, the pc sends the data until the printer memory is full at which stage the printer starts to print. new data is sent as memory space becomes available until the document is printed
when different data is requested to be printed or there is a hiccup in the process the pc looses the priority in the print list ( page number or new document)and so backs up that memory and becomes blocked
by going into the pc in the printer hard ware and deleting the printing waiting to be processed your are unblocking the process and allowing the pc to again move data to be printed

HP LaserJet 4100 for all applications in windows 7. When I go to print a document and click on print. The print screen exits, the print job doesn't processes, and the print queue stays empty. Noth

I have Windows 7 and I found that running troubleshoot on the printer works most of the time and keeps me from having to shut everything down.

Go to
  • Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers
  • In the upper left of the window select File
  • In the drop down list select Troubleshoot
This usually fixes the problem, really empties the printer queue, and I don't have to shut everything down.

My printer will not print. I can scan images but nothing happens when I go to print a document. There is no box that comes up that states there is a problem.

Your firewall could be blocking the print communication. The article below will guide you on how to allow full access to all Lexmark software and printer communication processes in the program rules/permissions for your firewall.
- Communication Failure When Trying to Scan, Print, or Perform a Smart Solution Function; Firewall Possibly Blocking a Process and Preventing Communication
Hope this helps.

My dell 968 printer wont print. I can use the computer to scan, or I can make copies. But when I try to print something the box that comes up and shows you the % that has been sent to printer stops at...

It sounds like you need to clear the print spooler.

If you have Windows XP,Vista, or Win7 try this:
go to START>RUN - in the OPEN box, type "taskmgr" (without quotes) you can also do a CTRL/ALT/DEL
when the task manager comes up,
go to the processes tab, and look for "spoolsv.exe"
left click it, and choose END PROCESS. it will warn you that ending it might cause instability. say yes or ok, its not a problem - you're going to restart it in a minute.

now, go back to the START>RUN box, and in there, type "spoolsv.exe" again without quotes

now try printing again - you should be all set

good luck!

XP SP3 sends docs to print que but nothing prints

Open up your print queue. Cancel All jobs.

Go to the start menu and either click on, or search for cmd. This will open the command window. You also need to open your task manager.

In the task manager, search for a process called spoolsv.exe, or if that doesn't exist, find a process with "spool" in the name. This is your print spooling process. Right click the process, and end it. You can close the task manager now.

Next, go to the command prompt. Type "net start spooler" without the quotes, and hit enter. This should restart your spooling process. Close the command window, and try to print.

If this doesn't work, you should check to make sure you're printing to the correct printer. If it doesnt solve the problem, uninstall your current printer (you may have to end the spoolsv.exe process again), and reinstall the drivers for your particular model, which you can find at the manufacturers website.

Printer keeps processing - nothing happens - no print

Not really sure about Mac, but if this happens on a PC, I would first uninstall the printer (software-wise) then download the latest drivers and install.
