If your TV needs degaused. You can leave your TV unpluged for about 30Mins, and the built in degausing circuit should work and clear the problem up. Sometimes the built in degausing will not work correctly when hot, because of the thermisitor is to high in resistance when hot.

Degaussing is the process of removing unwanted residual magnetism from the iron core of wire coils. The process maintains or improves the efficiency of such coils and on later crt tv and monitors the process was often done automatically on startup. It is a brief but noisy process. Degaussing was (is) also used on magnetic record/replay heads and suchlike.
CRT monitors and tv use strong electromagnets to make the spot scan into a picture. I don't know how scanning is carried out on a flat screen tv but Wikipedia remarks the flat screen display has displaced the magnetic scan systems...
To fix this, you need to do something called degaussing. You should keep magnets away from the screen in the future, because they cause this problem.
The first thing to try is to turn it on and off, making sure that all magnets and speakers (which have magnets in them) are kept far away from it. This will activate the monitor's auto-degausser if it has one.
If this does not help, this guide: http://www.wikihow.com/Degauss-a-Computer-Monitor gives a couple solutions, including using a soldering gun (not a soldering iron), illustrated in the video below:
With a powerdrill:
Or investing about 60 bucks in a degaussing coil like this which is a guaranteed fix:
One other trick that might work is to take an old CRT monitor ("fat-screen" rather than "flat-screen"), hold it up to the tv screen to screen, and turn it on and off to have the monitor use its own degausser. The monitor may have a button to activate degaussing, or it may be in the menu you can bring up with the buttons on the bottom of the screen.
If you don't want to deal with any of this, a tv repair shop will degauss your tv for you quickly.
HELLO. YES U CAN IF YOU CAN GET A DEGAUSSER.!!! U CAN GO ON LINE AND FIND OUT HOW TO MAKE ONE AT UTUBE.COM. TYPE IN HOW TO MAKE A DEGAUSSER COLE.!! THEN FIND OUT HOW TO USE IT.!!! THERE ALSO.!!! GOOD LUCK.!!
your tv may have ben magnetized by the lightning strike.
tv's have an automatic degaussing circuit that demagnetizes
the pix tube when the set is turned on. this degaussing circuit
may not be working or magnetism may have been too strong for
the internal degaussing to correct.
contact local tv repair shop in your area see if they can manually degauss your set , it should be a min. service charge around $25.

Your CRT (Picture Tube) screen mask has become magnetized. You need to degauss the CRT. Have you moved you TV lately or at any point had speaker sitting next to it? These are two things that can magnetize the screen mask. Well in any event you will need what is called a degaussing coil to demagnetize the CRT.
Here is the degaussing procedure:
Standing about 10 feet from the TV Screen turn on the degaussing coil which is in a vertical position and rotate it in a circular motion walking towards the TV .
Once about .5 to 1 inch from the TV continue to rotate the degaussing coil and the move away from the TV while still rotating the coil.
Once at the point where you began, position the coil to a horizontal plane and quickly move the coil back about two feet and the turn the coil off.
