There are larger screw-type anchors available at a hardware store. If the hole is a half inch, you can possibly use an expanding wing type "molly" anchor. it's hard to assemble the screws through the bracket, then put on the butterfly, and shove the folded butterfly into the hole, but it's doable.
The Moen YB2824 is attached to the mounting bracket with a set screw through the base. You would simply need to loosen this set screw to remove item from the wall.
Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
remove the setscrew.. your paint must be holding it on...put a knife and pry a little

There should be a small screw in each of the arms that secure the towel bar to the wall mounts. You will need to loosen each of these to remove the towel bar from the wall and to release the mounting bracket which has pulled free. To repair you need to puchase a larger size moly plug, toggle mount or other suitable hardware to secure the mounting bracket to the sheetrock wall (should not have pulled free is screwed in to the stud). Once you secure the mounting bracket then you are able to re-install the towel bar by placing the arms over the mounting brackets and tightening the small screws on each arm of the towel bar.
Here are a couple of videos which should help you undesrtand how towel bars are installed. Hope this is helpful. (do not delete)
Here is a couple of videos that should help understand how towel bars
First off you need to pry off the cap thats facing you (most models). Then there should be a little hole on the side for each one that needs an allen wrench to unscrew off the wall.
Towel bars usually have a base that attaches to the wall with a screw. To expose the screw, you must loosen and or remove a small screw on the underside of the mounts. Once the screw is exposed just tighten it.
on both ends look underneath and there is a tiny hole with an Allen/hex head insert u turn counterclockwise wise and loosen srew until you can tilt end upwards towards the wall, reverse to install
