SOURCE: remote control codes

The only remote that works is the one 4 all. Call ONE 4 ALL for the right model number. They then can program the remote on the phone to operate the SVA tv. It worked for me until the set died this week. Guess why I am looking on this site.

SOURCE: sva tv model;HD4208Tiii-pop will work for 15 minute then turn off

We have identified a common problems with theses sets manufactured by, SVA, Gateway, Viewsonic, Sampo and a few other brands. They all have a Samsung power supply board (LJ44-00025A), which has cause these units to lose power. There is a easy fix, replace the power board. But you ask why should we? That's the right question. If these boards all have the ability to fail with various parts and within various displays. This has to be a defective part. As of now, there is no recall on this part. Therefore, we are generating a list of customers, who own these displays and are requesting a refund for previously purchased parts or a replacement part at no cost to the customer. We are in the preliminary stages, so please be patient with our efforts.

If have identified your unit is salvage by an power issue an wish to purchase the identified part (LJ44-00025A, we recommend you purchase from http://www.adc-ast.com/.

We cannot guarantee that any monies will be refunded by this claim.

SOURCE: SVA PLASMA TV

I got this same tv from a guy in my area he would press the poewer botton on the tv and the standby light comes on and then turns off, so he gave me the tv for free i took the back panel off, and everytime i press the power botton the green light came on where the screen board is and went back off after i let the botton go i took the power board out took it to a repair shop to see if there was anything a wrong with it everything was good so i replaced the two fuses on the board and the one on the screen board, i had a feeling about the power switch so i jumped the wires on the switch purple to purple and green to green, I put it back together pluged it in the standby light came and stays on now, so i went out and got a universal remote for the sva at walmart for $15 programed it and pressto the tv works perfect so three fuses $3.60 two small pieces of wire and ele tape $0 my time 35 mins = one working plasma for $3.60 so when you have this problem like everyone else check the power botton switch, there cheap and check the fuses theres only three and if that dont work idk what to tell ya. and you do need a remote or tv wont work.

SOURCE: I have a Plasma, SVA 42

Hello,

A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your TV and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps

My tv turns off after about 10 mins and sometimes a few hours for know reason

Ok not sure if this is your problem, BUT, I have done this before! If you hit the SLEEP button on your TV's Remote control you may be setting the SLEEP TIMER on your TV. It is made so you can watch a show and fall asleep on your couch and the TV will shut off after a specified time. On mine it is anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 HOURS! My remote says the word SLEEP over the timer button. not sure on yours
Hope that solves the problem, just hit the button until the word "OFF" shows on your screen.

SVA television. Have model # EV1703 Remote no

When you say the remote doesn't get the channels I have to assume the channel entry behavior changed. I am not to familiar with this brand but these are the basics for most tv's. If you have not removed the cable input to the tv or unhooked anything before the problem started here are a few thing you could try. Push the menu or setup button on the remote and under the channel or setup option on the tv make sure it is set to Cable and not Air or Antenna. Run the tv through the auto channel search to reprogram the cable channels. This process can take close to 1 hour on some tv's since it has to scan through the digital and analogue tuners. This will allow your tv to add the correct cable channels and remove the unwanted ones. You should be able to enter the channel number or move up and down with the channel buttons on your remote.

Picture goes bad (fuzzy&scrolls&lines) on Hitachi projection tv

Sounds like your convergence modules have gone bad. They have 21 close spaced pins to unsolder and resolder. You'll need a soldering iron with a fine point tip and thin gauge solder to do the repairs yourself. Solder bridges between pins are common when soldering these module pins, so have some unsoldering wick handy if you're going to fix it yourself. Did not turn on

I'm having the same problem with my SVA. It would turn on and after an hour or so it would power off but the red light would still be on. It got so bad that after a few mins it would power off. Then one day nothing but I still had the red light. I opened the back of the tv and found some leakage of a transformer (maybe a cap) on the power supple board. I order a new board. I will let you know if it works or not. Email me if you figured out what was wrong with yours as I think we have the same problem. [email protected]
