What is the exact modle number to your Bose Changer? If you send this information, along with your email address, I'll send you copy of it if I have in my manual library, by return mail.
I would say to take it back regardless of what the problem is. I would say the unit is bad. Does the remote work the other functions? if it does not then the remote could be bad, if the remote does work the other functions, I would think the unit is bad.

The most common reason for the CD Changer not reading
discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:
This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your disc, or
issues inserting your disc or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the
entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your CD Changer. Hope this will help...
I read enough comments from unhappy TEAC owners with similar problems to learn that the drive motor is to blame and that repair sounds like sending good money after bad. I'm going to buy a Sony changer.
Try unplugging the unit and then powering it up again, this will make it reset and could release the disc's if not, you could have a lok inside the unit, see if and discs are half loaded.
you can try disconnecting the battery for 10 min. to reset the system. If that dosent work then you will need to send the radio into a repair shop to have them manually remove the cd and repair the changer. (the changers are very fragle and break inside) you can send it directly to alpine to be repaired.their number is 1-800-421-2284 ex 860304
