The detergent dispenser draw where you put in the detergent has 3 sections. The compartment on the far right is for soaking agents. The compartment on the far left is for wash and stain removers (like bleach). The middle compartment is for fabric softeners, fabric conditioners.

How do I get the bleach dispenser to drain?

Hello Denise C - There are several things that could cause the bleach to not dispense into the washer. Are you sure the liquid in the dispenser after the wash is bleach? If it is pure bleach, the solenoid that lets the water into the dispenser is not working. This solenoid is located on the back of the dispenser. It only gets voltage during the dispense time and fills the bleach dispenser with water. The bleach dispenser fills while the washer is filling for the rinse cycle.

When the washer begins to fill for the rinse cycle, the bleach solenoid is energized and water flows into the bleach dispenser cup. When the cup is full the water siphons out and bleach and water flow into the tub.

If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is pure bleach you may need a technician to diagnose and repair the problem. The voltage will have to be tested to the bleach solenoid and a volt meter is required.

If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is water you probably need to clean the dispenser cup. Scum will build up in the siphon tube and stop the liquid from going into the washer tub. The incoming water will dilute the bleach and overflow the dispenser cup and run into the tub.

Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Clean the bottom of the insert and the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Reinstall the insert and put the drawer back inside the washer.

To test the siphon action slowly pour water into the bleach compartment. When the water level goes above the maximum line stop pouring. The water should all drain out. You may also test the fabric softener compartment the same way.

I do hope this information proves to be helpful.

I do most of my shopping online and liquid bleach sometimes doesn't ship without breaking. Is it OK to use dry or powder bleach? I have the whirlpool cabrio top load large capacity model.

It should be okay to use dry bleach, if you follow the instructions on the bleach. Some bleaches require dissolving in water first, others can be used dry.

Bleached out streaks on my clothing. After running a bleach cycle, the next load of clothing has bleach streaks...thus ruining the clothes. I have even tried running a water cycle only after a bleach...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France @ 16:16 Mon afternoon.

Yes- I have a POSSIBLE solution but it depends on some answers-
I do not know your exact model- does it have a specific container for bleach or is the bleach poured into one of the powder/fluid/ conditioner trays?
If the latter, have you removed the tray and thoroughly cleaned it? If not it is possible that not all of the bleach is siphoning out properly because of a (partial) blockage. A similar thing happens to many people with the conditioner/softener tray. Because it is liquid the tray cannot have a simple open rear end else the conditioner would just pour in straight away so it uses a 'tube' down which the conditioner siphons/pours- providing that the tube is clear.
Trays are removed in a few different ways- pressing down on a plastic lip at the rear centre, pressing up on a catch underneath the tray OR by pulling then finally lifting the tray out.
Even if a blocked tray is not the answer, it is still worthwhile taking it out and cleaning on a regular basis. In the same way, particularly if you live in a 'hard' water area i.e. lots of calcium, it is well worthwhile running a sachet of proprietary anticalc powder/liquid through the machine- say every 3 months as I do!

I really hope the problem is the tray- though that might be too simple!
Best of luck,

John C

The bleach dispebnser looks like it has mildew in it. How do I clean it? The manual says to clean the machine put bleach in the soap dispenser but will that clean the bleach disperser? (I have never used...

Bleach is the only real mildew buster there is. Pour a small amount in that dispenser then wipe it out with a paper towel. Or if its like mine it (the dispenser) will pop out and you can put it in the dishwasher. If you use bleach, you pour in a preset amount before the wash and it will be diluted when the washer fills up.

The next wash, after a wash load using bleach, gets a few bleach spots. After washing a load using bleach, I've tried washing a load which would not matter if bleach contaminated it. Even the 2nd load,...

I would just put the bleach into the tub while it's filling and wait till it's about half full of water before adding the clothes.

It may help to pour the bleach into the dispenser then pour water in after it to rinse it out. Some washers say to do this in the manual.

I am setting up my pool and it is 15 x 36.intex easy pool. Do I need to put any shock treatment or chemicals in the water. I heard you can pour in bleach?

yes i put pure bleach in my pool....I only use one bag of shock it about every month or so and i use 1 and half gallons of water each week. U can about tell when u will need to add it..when the water starts getting cloudy. My pool is a 20 round...8,800 gallons, so if u have a smaller pool for instance a 15 round.....5,000 gallons, i would only put maybe 3/4 of a gallon and a smaller pool about half a gallon of bleach per week.

Now how to put the bleach in the pool is what u need to focus on. The way i do it is where the water is returned to your pool i open the bleach and make sure u r wearing old clothing because i didnt once and i had bleach spots on my shirt due to the water splashing back up through the return. Well just pour slowly where the water comes back in the pool.....this is to prevent the liner from bleaching. So i suggest that u do it as slow as u can...its a lil but tidias when u pour it in compared to just dumping a bag of but its well worth the money u save. Pouring it over the water that returns to ur pool is to make sure it doesnt hit the liner and bleach it.....the water from the return will mix in with what u are pouring so that wont happen.....It will save alot of money...i dont use any other thing in my pool but bleach and shock it like i said about every cpl months and all the shock it is for is to settle everything to the bottom so i can vacuum it up. My pool is sparkling clear. i can see every lil spec. Good luck and I hope this helps.....Let me know!
God Bless

Can I use color safe bleach in my new cabrio, and if so where do I put it?

According to the manual on pages 12 & 13.

1.
Place a load of sorted clothes into the washer. See “Laundry
Tips.”
■ Load evenly to maintain washer balance. Mix large and
small items. Items should move easily through the wash
water.
■ Load only to the top of the basket as shown. Overloading
can cause poor cleaning. Items need to move easily
through the wash water.
2. Pour measured powdered or liquid High Efficiency detergent
into the detergent dispenser. Always use the detergent
dispenser, and do not put detergent directly onto clothes in
the washer.
3. Add color-safe bleach (powdered or liquid) to this dispenser,
if needed. Be sure to match powdered color-safe bleach with
powdered detergent or match liquid color-safe bleach with
liquid detergent.
4. Pour measured liquid chlorine bleach into the liquid chlorine
bleach dispenser, if needed. Bleach is diluted and
automatically dispensed at the proper time during the wash
cycle.
■ Do not overfill. Do not dilute. Do not use more than 1 cup
(250 mL) for a full load. Use less with a smaller load size.
■ Follow the garment and the chlorine bleach
manufacturer’s directions for proper use.
■ To avoid spilling, use a cup with a pouring spout. Do not
let bleach splash, drip, or run down into the washer basket.
■ At the end of the cycle, a small amount of water may be
left in the dispenser. This is normal.
NOTE: Use only liquid chlorine bleach in this dispenser.

5. Pour measured liquid fabric softener into the fabric softener
dispenser, if desired.
■ Do not overfill. The dispenser holds 3 oz (94 mL), or a
capful of fabric softener.
■ The fabric softener is dispensed in the final rinse. If Extra
Rinse is selected, the fabric softener will be dispensed
during the Extra Rinse.
■ Do not spill or drip any fabric softener onto the clothes.
■ At the end of the cycle, a small amount of water may be
left in the dispenser. This is normal.
NOTE: Use only liquid fabric softener in this dispenser.
6. Close the washer lid.
7. Press POWER. This turns on the washer display.
8. Select a Wash Cycle. See “Cycles.”
9. Select the desired Modifiers. See “Modifiers.”
10. Select an Option, if desired. See “Options.”
11. Select Delay Wash, if desired. See “Delay Wash” in the
“Modifiers” section.
12. Press START. The wash cycle begins, and the display shows
the estimated remaining time. The lid will lock.
NOTE: If you do not press Start within 5 minutes of pressing
Power, the washer automatically shuts off.

The way that I read the manual, your color safe bleach would go in the detergent dispenser. Your liquid chlorine bleach would go in the bleach dispenser.
