If you checked both the inside and outside for clogs and did not find any anything then possibly it could be that your washer is nit spinning the clothes out enough. The other possibility is that some of the older dryers have two heating coils and one of them may have burned out. I am not sure of the model # or the brand of yours but these are some of the possibilities.
im not familiar with this NIT back up have you tried running the chkdsk utility
click start control panel
administrive tools,computer management ,disk management right click on your
drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start
tick in two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of
bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now,start should
schedule this task when restart do not do anything while
the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage your computer
You may want to clean out the dryer's insides as well as your venting that leads outside. This may be the reason your dryer isn't fully drying. It basically isn't running efficiently enough due to age or lint build up or both. As far as the running after it's cooled down it may be a "wrinkle guard" where it tumbles the clothes until they have cooled down.
If you look on the insideiof the dryer door toward the top . you should see a clamp or something ..if that clamp or screw is broken it will nit operate and giv eyou an error messsage ... what we did was put a little screw back into that hole and made sure it;'s long enough to push in the button at the opening of the dryer .. try that .. if that does not work then you might want to try . to replace the dryer plug ( and or electrical box) if you have a 3 prong outlet and cord then that will give you the error message also , these dryers are picky ...
its the switch problem its got tripped internally so its not getting shut off.if the switch would have tripped to the opposite side that the dryer would have nit turned ON. so the switch needs to be opened the tripper needs to be replaced.easy job but very technical.

Check the power input. perhaps one of the hot legs is not working. When I say this I mean that the dryer is plugged into a 240V receptacle (if you live in North America). This means that each of the hot slots are 120V. The heating element uses both of these for a total of 240V, but the controls use only one for 120V. The element may seem to be working, but it could be only half-voltage.
