Skype recognizes my mic, but when I select it, I can't get audio to record (no levels) I CAN hear sounds over Skype through the same audio chain however. Recording is no problem through Adobe Audition.
I use a Presonus Firestudio Project, and had to put the microphone input to interface 1. Used 8 before (which the Mac OS X 10.8 System Preferences Sound panel recognised, but which Skype didn't hear. Prob can reroute the signal through the Universal Control, but I've rerouted this to the DAW so...
Did you figure out the problem? I am having the same Problem!
SOURCE: Crackling and popping during playback/recording,
Turn OFF all resource hogs such as Anti-virus, Anti-pop-up, and other background programs. Disconnect all internet access such as wireless and Ethernet service programs. All these resource hogs and programs for instance that keep track of when to run scans just cause interrupts of the servicing of the high speed audio grabbers. Your machine should be BARE of all these hogs.
SOURCE: Hello, Not sure if my issue
What latency do you have the Presonus set to? Too low of latency can cause this issue.
SOURCE: with my pc, the presonus
Check your latency settings and try something higher that what it is currently set to. 1024 samples is usually a good starting point for most newer PCs.
