I purchased a Leap Frog Read & Write Leap Pad Learning System in October of 2008. We are active in box #1. Now the toy does not turn on and does not respond. I have tried making sure batteries are correctly installed with battery cover securely attached. Batteries have been removed and put them back in. Battery contacts have been cleaned as instructed. New batteries have been installed. I also tried inserting cartridge from box #2. Still the toy does not turn on and does not respond. Is there anything else I can do to fix this problem short of exchanging it at the store where it was purchased?

Leap pad screen is broken on the inside. It still works but you can't see half the screen. It's not broke on the outside.

I had the same problem with my laptop. The help I received at the tech office was zero. Maybe you can buy a second hand pad with intact screen to fit. Techos will want you to buy a new pad.

Leap pad broken screen

Cannot replace screen. Contact leap frog through the warranty. They have you deface the bad one and send a pic of it, then they mail you a brand new one

Broken Leap Frog Leapster Learning Game System

I purchased a Leapfrog Leapster in end of June sales last year for my daughter's birthday in October 2008. When she first turned it on it froze but after restarting played fine for 2 hrs then died and refused to work again. Fortunately I had kept my receipt (Target) but was still worried about it having been 4 months prior. They ended up giving me a store credit as they no more in stock at that store and I picked one up from another Target without having to pay the difference between my original sale price. I know you don't have the receipt but you could contact the place of purchase and ask them even if they are able to send off for repairs or put you in contact with the right people. Hope it helps a little ...
