Hello,
A new one runs around $225 - $250usd. A used one should be roughly half of that for this year, make and model of TV. $100 would be a real decent price for this TV used. This TV has a real good picture quality to it and are fairly easy to use. This TV is a really good TV for the quality vrs. price.
Regards,
Tony
they are two things to check, the power supply has a voltage of 90-110volts which triggers a line transformer to oscillate,
firstly check that voltage if that voltage is there then check the line transistor.
Most likely there is a failure in the the scan amplifiers and or he power supply area. This will take some troubleshooting with a DVM and a scope as necessary. You will need the service manuals (schematics), and the necessary training and skills to follow up.
I think you should either look for another used set, or take the set in for an estimate. For someone who is not trained and equipped in TV service, this will be a big undertaking. There are also serious safety issues when trying to fix your own TV set. AS innocent as it looks, there are some high voltages employed.
