Hi sir/madam
Use only 12v adapter for your drive...purchase same volt adapter...
Still not working remove the casing of iomega , connect it as internal drive on desktop ..
If it is under warranty pls go for service centre

SOURCE: Wrong Power Adapter

Yes.If the voltage range exceeds the limit,"astalavista baby."
If the voltage is was below recommended, try plugging in Power Only, turn on,leave for a minutes. This should adjust the voltage regulator back to normal.

SOURCE: Fried HD?

Yep, it's probably fried, a little too much juice went in.
While the drive itself might be ok, the external casing is another story.

Try opening the case and removing the HD and plugging that in on your PC directly as a slave drive.

SOURCE: mistakenly plugged maxtor one touch 2 into wrong power adapter

Well Most Likely The Circuit Board Burnet Out Since Its 12V And When Plugged Into A 19V Supply It Will Burn Out Instantly Because It Over Charges The Circuits. So Its Not Possible To Repair Such Damage But You Can Take Out The Hard Drive And Plug IT Into A Desktop Computer And Use It At Home Or As An Online Hard Drive To Store Files

if it's 6 months old, you should be still having warranty, suggest you take it back to where you bought it from.

Iomega mdhd360ue not powering on?

IS there any sound on the drive if no try to check if the problem is with the case or the drive you can remove the drive from the case and directly connect to a system using data cable.
if does not have a data type connector on the drive than you have to try different case supporting the connector on the drive.
could b the cable first try to change the cable and test it.

Iomega LPHD-UP 500GB power issue?

The fault sounds like a power supply problem. The USB port on your computer supplies up to a max. 500MA and this may not be sufficient for the external hard drive to work properly.
I suggest you get a new AC power adapter for this drive.

My iomega 500gb external hard drive has a broken.

My Iomega (33654) 500GB USB isn't working. When I turn it on the blue light comes on for a few seconds. I can hear / feel it working but then the light goes off (it is still whirring inside). The computer isn't recognising it. I think it's still under guarantee but I can't find the paperwork. Do you have any ideas?

I have a iomega mdhd500-ue for about past ten months.when switched on it useually whirls into action but now it is just making a repeated clicking sound and it is not connecting to my laptop

I have a MDHD500-N Iomega external HD that had the same issue - clicking at startup and flashing power LED. I noticed that the supplied power transformer for the unit is 12V 1A and the sticker on the HD enclosure says 12V 2A. I hooked up the HD enclosure directly to a power supply - at boot up, the HD draws 2.5A, more than double what the provided power transformer can output. HD enclosure runs beautifully on an external PS.
