Metal objects such as coins, keys, and screws can damage the inner drum and outer tub of your washing machine. Gum, tissues, and cash can clog your washer drain. Any of these items that make it inside your dryer are going to cause damage to the inner workings there, too.

Answer to Ray Gallants reply to my question , I agree except for one thing I was talking about Jewellery NOT WASHING MACHINES tHANKS

John, if you post your question under "washing machines", you will likely get answers for washing machines. If your question isn't about washing machines, you should not post it under the "washing machines" topic.

Washer not filling with water

Hi Karen. Problem may be the internal "tap" that operates electrically. First test - If you are trying for a cold wash, try a hot wash. If maching begins to fill you know this tap is your problem. There are 3 solutions if this is the case
1) swap hot and cold water hoses at the tap and tell machine to do a hot wash - only good if you only want cold washes
2) check where hoses connect to machine at rear - sometimes a fine mesh filter that has become clogged - may be at either end.
3) Replace the internal "tap"(solinoid). This "tap" has a rubber diaphram inside that may become stuck if the machine has not been used for a while. it can be easily dismantled and reasembled by a handyman.

Error code df on a simpson washing maching

The clue is in the water temp. light flashing. DF means that the temperature sensor is faulty. Replace it with a new one. Turn power off at wall. Remove the 3 screws & open panel. Sensor is plugged onto control board near the middle top of board & goes down into the base of the control panel at the middle where the water enters the machine. Unplug from the board taking care not to damage the pins on the board. Replace the new one making sure the o-ring is on it. Close up panel & turn power back on.
