In most cases, this is an indication of a failing timer unit. The video below demonstrates replacing the timer assembly. Most makes and models follow the same procedure.

SOURCE: Whirlpool electric dryer

either you are pushing the dryer back to far and crushing the exhaust vent hose .your exhaust vent going outside is stopped up , or your low temp thermo will not let the dryer cycle and it is over heating.

SOURCE: kenmore gas dryer not heating

GAS DRYER, NO HEAT. CHECK THE HEAT SETTING FIRST.
IS IT ON AIR FLUFF? I'M NOT BEING SMART, BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED HOW MANY CALLS I TAKE THAT ARE ON AIR FLUFF. SECOND, LISTEN FOR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER. IF YOU HEAR IT, LOOK IN THE INSPECTION HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE DRYER, OR REMOVE THE TOE PLATE TO VIEW THE IGNITOR. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS AND THEN CLICKS OFF BUT NO FLAME, YOU HAVE A BAD SOLENOID ON THE GAS VALVE. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS, BUT NEVER CLICKS OFF, THE RADIANT SENSOR ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE BURNER ASSEMBLY IS BAD.

IF YOU DON'T HEAR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER, THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE IS THE THERMAL FUSE LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE DRYER DOWN NEAR THE EXHAUST DUCT. IT IS A SMALL WHITE ITEM ATTACHED TO THE EXHAUST DUCT WITH TWO WIRES ATTACHED.

SOURCE: my kenmore 80 series dryer won't heat but

Had similiar problem once and it turned out to be one leg of the 240 volt
supply was dead. The drum motor only needs one leg (120V) to run, but the Heating elements require both legs (240v). Make sure you have 240V at the recep.

SOURCE: dryer is not heating up to dry clothes

The spark ignitor maybe at fault. Listen for the clicking noise upon starting it up the first 30 seconds it runs. If not heard it is in need of a replacement

Samsung DV448ae electric dryer. Sensor mode not working replaced the moisture sensor with not change. What could it be? Dryer is heating.

I may be misinterpreting your complaint, but I think your stating that the dryer doesn't dry properly. If so, the first thing I would check is to see if the exhaust duct is clogged with lint (they need to be cleaned out once a year or the ability of the dryer to dry clothes properly diminishes to zero).

What I do is, I disconnect the duct at the back of the dryer and connect a shop vac to the duct. (The kit comes with a shop vac hose-to-duct adaptor). Then I go outside, and using an cordless drill, attach a special duct cleaning brush to the drill (the kit comes with several extension wands to increase its length) and run the brush through the outside cover and down into the duct. The drill spins the brush, completely cleaning the interior of the duct. You can buy the brush at any home center, I bought mine at Menards.

Example: Amazon com Deflecto Dryer Duct Cleaning Kit Extends Up To 12 Home...

After I'm done, I'll also use the extension pipe on the shop vac and push it up into the dryer itself to clean out that part of the exhaust.

If you neglect to clean the duct, the dryer will eventually take forever to dry clothes and they will still come out damp.

Dryer not drying

Hello Tony Palow - Have you recently cleaned the ducting? Confirm that it doesn't have any debris or build up. Try reprogramming the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and if the unit still does not dry, I would recommend contacting a professional to proceed further since it could be any one of several underlying causes. Most than likely the dryer has a faulty control board, heating element, blower assembly, thermostat, sensor or damaged cord.

I have a matag neptune gas dryer and it does not heat up but turns I am not sure the year of it . It is digital

The heat will not turn on for a few reasons or possibly just one
First remove the exhaust duct work and clean thoroughly
Any lint build up will cause the moister sensor to put the burner in check
Also after you had cleaned it and still no heat, listen for the spark ignitor to click when first turned on. That ignites the burner. If no clicking is heard the spark ignitor is at fault. If it does work the moister sensor is at fault instead

Takes a very long time to dry clothes, esp. towels.

when the dryer is running go to the out side of the home and look for the exhaust vent and check the amount of air flow coming out it should be very strong.
if the air flow is week then ther is a restriction come where and needs to be cleaned out.

if you have a leaf blower you can remove the ducting that is behind the dryer and stick the blower tube down the exhaust hole and turn it on this will blow alot of lint out of the ducting.
also be sure to check your dryer itself and make sure it also clean

My dryer is taking too many times to dry my clothes!

hello tmivie,
When you say you took the dryer apart and cleaned out all the lint, did you also check the vent system all the way to the outside and at the end where the duct exits your house? If you are getting heat and limited or restrictive air flow, your drying time will be excessive.. There may be other problems such as the blower itself isn't functioning properly to move the air out.. Since your dryer is electric, you can detach the vent line from the dryed and turn it on.. feel the exhaust flow to make sure it is pretty robust then reattach the vent and check for about the same flow at the exit point of your duct system. Let me know if that solves your problem or not so we can look at other ideas..
Regards,
Rick

Kenmore 64942300 Electric Dryer runs, no heat

This may seem too simple of an answer based on your extensive troubleshooting thus far, but the most common reason for cold air running of any electric dryer is a broken heater coil. This is simply a coil of wire that is heated to warm the air in the fan duct. These often overheat and break if the vent duct is blocked, too long, or has odd bends that can restrict flow. Recommend replacing heater coil and use smooth wall vent pipe. Avoid coil type flexible duct.

I have a Frigidaire gallery series dryer.(GEOQ2152ESO). It will spin but will not heat. I suspect blown house fuses in dryer circuit. How do I access and replace fuses ?

the dryer circuit will be clearly labelled in the house box, there will be two fuses or a single two phase breaker for this circuit.
there are not usually electrical fuses as such IN a dryer, there are thermostats to regulate temperature, and a thermal fuse, that cuts the power totally to the heat element if air temperature rises above its melt point.
the element itself has a limited life span and may fuse/burnout.
to test electrical components.
Unplug dryer
open case, by removing the front,
described elsewhere in any of the 'changing belt' threads
locate the thermal cutouts, on the fan housing or exhaust duct and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire
3aca526.jpg5d18df6.jpg thermal cuttouts look like these ~1inch accross.
locate the heat element and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire

while you have the dryer open de-lint the fan and exhaust ducting, most common cause of element or themal fuse failure is air flow restriction
7713ef8.jpgce0732c.jpg you get a lot of lint out of the fan even when proper cleaning is done, and clean out the ducting right to the exterior walls
95b69b0.jpgthis was the rather extreme result of not cleaning the duct (brainiac placed a wire across the terminals of the burnt out thermal fuse)

Overheating error

this sounds like a fault with your master board even with a 90degree bend it should be ok could have 2 90s and it would work ok if u have manufacturers warranty and it is still ok then get them out as if the master board has gone it will be expensive
