If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
2 Suggestions:- 1) Did you tried to connect External Monitor? Tell me the status 2) Remove all Power Adapters and battery. Push the Power Button for 15seconds. Again Connected the battery and Power Adapter. Check if its working or not. If not then Must be Motherboard Problem.
Hi There, If you've got a multimeter - test your AC adapter to see if it is outputting the correct voltage for your laptop. If it is, Then you've got an HP boat anchor. Unfortunately HP laptops are known for their overheating issues, and if this is the case, a lawsuit filed against said manufacturer means you may be able to be compensated for your loss.
If I understand you correctly, you are saying the computer will run with the AC adapter plugged in, but will not start on battery power even though the battery appears to be charged. Most likely the battery is defective. If it won't run on battery power with a known good battery, then there is a problem in the power control circuit on the main logic board inside the computer.
Click Start Control Panel and go into the Power Options to check the Battery Meter. Batteries on last for so long. Maybe it's time you buy a new one.
If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the batteryis not charging, then the battery is dead.
To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let thelatop run for 10 minutes or so.
To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in andremove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is deadand needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.
try to test using voltmeter your power cord charger of laptop maybe loose wiring or damage power supply.if same problem need hp service center that's damage motherboard.
