If your remote won't work at all, then you'll need to get a new remote from Samsung to control all functions. If however, everything works on the remote but the volume, keep the original for all other functions and just use a cheap universal remote programmed to the Samsung code to control the volume. I had the same thing happen on a Sony THIB remote for a HT. I used a Scientific Atlanta to turn it on and off, as well as control the volume, but retained the original remote so I could get at all other functions. If you have to buy a new Samsung remote or if you buy one of those high-dollar universal remotes that program a zillion functions it will cost you big. Fair warning.

If you want to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the nearest service center for Samsung at your town. Provide them the exact model number of your TV set.
If you want to buy a universal remote control, select an RCA RCR -------- model, which have setup code for Samsung. You can see the setup code list alongwith the universal remote control.

I would buy one online through ebay.com that will be the cheapest option.

The Samsung AH59-02291A remote came with several Samsung Home Theater systems, including the HT-H4530 and the HT-H5500W. The remote is not a universal remote and will not control other devices. Be careful to do this with AC cable disconnected from AC outlet! If you have some experience with electronics, disconnect the wired plugs from power supply and discharge electrolitic capacitors to ground with a 330 ohm 1 watt resistor. Then reconnect the wired plugs. Be careful to do this with AC cable disconnected from AC outlet! Then connect to AC outlet and turn on the DVD player. You will see that DVD player restores to normal operation again.

1. Disconnect your player from its main power source for 30seconds
2.Reconnect your player to its power source
3.Press the power on button on your remote control
4.Press the Enter button on your remote control
5.Press 8,4,2,6 and 9
6.Press Enter on remote control and the your player will place itself on standby mode
7.press the power on button on remote control.
