I did a load and then when turning the tub inside to see if a sock was stuck to the side, I heard something clunking around. it sounds like its between the tub layers. My handy husband Is trying to get the front off the machine but the top part seems to be stuck. are there hidden screws somewhere? Or is there another way to get the front off?

I don't know what machine you have but some have clips you can push back with a putty knife or flat screwdriver just put the putty knife in the crack at the top of the front panel & slid it over till you hit something that will most likely be the clip push it in. Some have screws 2 at the bottom take them out & pull out on the bottom that will let the clip come out at the top. I would check for the screws first. Some have 2 front panels the bottom has clips you might be able to just pull out on the bottom panel at the top or use a screw driver to pry out. then check or screws at the bottom of the top panel. I hope this helps these are some machines there may be others. Good luck

SOURCE: wheezing sound

The inside tub moves on the spin stage only and cause the water, by a centrifugal force, to be forced out of the clothes. During the wash cycle, the tub is stationary and the agitator moves forth and back. If you would like to remove the agitator - Remove the inner agitator cap (inside the top of the agitator) and then open the screw (be aware not to lose parts !) Good luck !

SOURCE: Whirlpool duet washer has rock, marble, or something stuck inside

as long as your sure its an item between the tub assy the baffles in the drum can be removed and item fished out. but ifsomething snapped on the rear of the drum you would need to replace it. the baffle part number is 8182233, its about $40 thinknin thats worth a try before 475. the lower acess panel could also be removed and the main tub to pump hose could be removed which would give you a 3in hole to look through and try to grab somethin. worth a try

SOURCE: sock stuck in outer tub whirlpool cabrio

youll need to "pop" the main top.. then unsnap the outer ring that cvers the outer tub. if you look at the center of "agitator/ or bump plate depending on model" theres a small cap that will come of fand reveal a 7/16 screw remove the screw, and then oyull be able to lift the entire inner basket right out to retrieve any debris.

SOURCE: machine will not drain and spin

http://www.partstore.com/Part/LG+Electronics+Incorporated/LG+Electronics%2fZenith/4681EA2001D/New.aspx?ModelMfgName=LG+Electronics+Incorporated&ModelBrandName=LG+Electronics%2fZenith&ModelNumber=WM3431HW

you need a new one of these. i took mine COMPLETELY apart and found the impeller jammed. the impeller is a magnet in a sealed plastic carrier with an electro magnet around it. the electro magnet energizes , the two opposing fields spin the inner magnet ( just like a fish tank filter good idea actually!) the inner magnet on mine had a slight crack from factory causing vibration and allowing debris past the seal then jamming the impeller. to check yours drain it with the small drain tube, then get a towel or two and place around the unit at the floor.pull the large black drain cover off and after the gushing tidal wave look inside. you will see the white impeller. try turning it with w screw driver , pen or whatever. you may be able to remove and then clean / reassemble and be good as new. i only needed two tools to tear the machine apart. a Phillips screwdriver and pliers to get the clamps on the pump (2) and the clamp back on the door to drum gasket.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool Duet front loader is ripping my

My washer ruined 2 king sheets 3 shirts and brand new jogging suit, so I know what you mean! The rubber gasket ...it had 2 metal bands..one on the inside which is a wide one and a small thin one on the outside of the gasket. You really can't see the wide one unless it has started to slipped off or break. or by taking the ting one off,..my wide band came loose which caused the screw to be exposed just enough for something to catch on it, tearing the material, it kept wrapping around and around untili eventually the band came completely off. I hope this helps.

During spin cycle the washer makes a loud thumping noise. Not a clanging/sharp noise. When I manually turn drum it sounds like something is loose inside. Like a ball may sound inside drum as it turns.

Is it a front loader? You may have something stuck between the tubs or it may be a broken "paddle" One of the plastic baffles that move the clothes around in the tub. they should all be tightly against the tub.

My ewf1087 has the tub locked, as if an emergency brake has been applied or something and now it dosnt rotate freely by hand and when it tries to go into a spin cycle or move the tub at all it sounds like...

You have something jammed in the tub cavity - like a sock, or pants etc. Caused by overloading the machine. You will find it very difficult to remove, as the gap is very narrow. If you are lucky, you may see it jammed up the side of the door seal, but may need to dismantle the machine to get it out. If its a nail or screw stuck, its probably wrecked the machines tub or heater. Try removing the water heater and looking inside carefully with a torch - sometimes you can remove obstructions with a long piece of wire with a hook on - maybe! lol Or try removing the door seal - but good luck getting it back on again!!! very difficult unless you have tried this before.

Zanussi fs 1555 w machine stopped during cycle now drum will not turn

Hello,
If you cannot turn the machine by hand then it may be an idea to see if the drive belt has snagged around the back end some how take a peep with a torch thru. top.if the belt looks ok it may be that something has got stuck inside the drum.Sometimes socks get stuck between the front of the drum casing and the drum shine a torch around the front by the door seal and see if you can see any objects jutting out if you can be careful and try with a vice grips to pull out if no joy it sounds as if it will have to be a tub out job.Sometimes objects like coins can be fished out thru the back where the heater sits but still a lot of work to get down there.Body of machine has to be split for access.

Good luck

Sounds like something is knocking around in the back of the washer. On the spin cycle, the noise is very loud anyway, but it sounds like there is something banging around inside. The drum moves around...

ok open the door
make sure the thing is empty
try to move the inner tub
if you can shke it side to side anything but around
you have a broken spinner support

Washer clunking

Look just inside the door. Between the door and the tub. Feel around behind the rubber boot that seals the tub to the door. See if you find a bic lighter, pocket knife or something like this.

Washer runs wont pump water out

You have a sock stuck in the tub at the tub to pump drain area.
You can take a wire coat hanger and straighten it out. Bend a "U" in one end. Fish it down between the tubs at the drain location and pull out whatever is stuck. If this does not work, you will have to remove the inner tub to get to it.
